These sorts of shows are just way too tacky and exploitative. I loathe the way this couple's personal tragedy is used to draw viewers. It's not even subtle. The panel somehow knows to ask about the fiancee and does so within seconds, then cue the sappy music and the cutaway to a heartbreaking tale. Do the show's producers actually walk down the queue of contestants asking if they've had a personal treagedy that they would like to parade in front of millions of people? It's just gross.
