  • Were you using an Intuos? Cintiq? Or Bamboo?

  • wowww....youre inking makes me really happy. its so beautiful *w* i love inking, myself, so this is really cool~

  • @benehime7 *your

  • whats name of the song ?

  • what brush are you using?

  • @OceanEyesForever

See my other tutorial videos...might help answer your questions.

  • For inking over a drawing that's scanned, just open up a new file to the desired size and place the drawing on its own layer. Then do your work in another layer over it. See my other videos for more info.

  • Do you have a brush set or a link to where i can get that one from

  • how do you upload a scanned pencil sketch to illustrator?

  • iv got a grafix tab but its shit :/

  • horrilble music....please post it whit the original song!

  • @keesenmanita everyone has different taste of music if you don't like it mute it

i rather like it this version

  • I'm staying tuned! Where's part 2? :)

  • Not sure if you answered this already but how/what brush do you use in order to trace because at first the line looks fuzzy but then it looks like it adjusts itself to make a smooth line.

PS. I have a Create Wacom Tablet and tips?

  • Beautiful! :)

    Also...Wonderwall<3

  • My wacom is dead :(

  • What Wacom are you using here? Intuos?

  • whats your brush settings

  • how do you draw that lines? >.> i want to learn

  • @willywinasd13 He used the brush tool and a graphics tablet.

  • Hi! How exactly does it work? You are looking at the creen constantly and draw on the tablet that is in front of you? The tablet is blank or does it shows exactly what is on your screen?

  • @fakecisawesome

Yes, that's essentially what it is. It's a bit of an adjustment training yourself to look at the screen instead of down on the paper. The tablet does not have an image on it. It's just a pad, basically. Mine has a 4X6 area of drawing space. A Wacom Cintique would allow you draw/see everything digitally. But they're salty.

  • amazing!! what program please?

  • @PestVic Adobe Illustrator

  • yo did you get this many views from the promoter?

  • @MrBayWayz

I'm not sure what you mean by 'promoter'. I created the video a few years ago and just uploaded it here. Took off like wildfire. :)

  • @jonathonlt1 just wondering if this was just a natural hit, or got promoted to get this big, sounds like a natural hit congrats, come check out my portraits and give me some feedback when you get a chance.

  • very very cool effect :D

  • Do you expand brushes after all ? How are u fill then all shapes with color, they are divided?

  • Oh, ok, this is in Illustrator..I was wondering at first how you were getting your lines to snap into place like that after you drew them.

  • See my other tutorials for more information on settings I used in Illustrator guys. It will help you a lot.

The music was a remake of Wonderwall by Ryan Adams.

Thank you for all the kind words!

  • Just perfect!

    1. What's the brush? I guess it's one of the standard ones, but which one exactly?

    2. What's the song? : ) I mean, who performs this very version of it? : )

  • @ShitPileVideo

I think used the 3pt. Round Brush for this one. But I alternate brush sizes quite a bit depending on what I'm doing.

The song is a remake of Wonderwall, sung by Ryan Adams.

My other tutorials have more information on the settings used too.

  • @jonathonlt1 wow thank you so much for so prompt a reply. I am subscribing to your inspiring videos : )

  • Great work! What's the name of the song? :)

  • may i know the brush setting? it seems smoothen the stroke that drawn by you...

  • How did you get you brushstrokes like that ?

  • Do you use the regular default brush for everything? o.o

  • it always gives me a pleasure to watch how the art is being created, especially with good music in the background.

  • what tool did you use?

  • Impressing!

Are you using the mouse for this? or a comp pencil?

  • @kingokonda

    Wacom Tablet.

  • @kingokonda If you would read the description then you wouldn't have needed to ask that question.

  • I'm trying to re learn AI since it has been about 3 years since I used it, and I was wondering: How to you get rid of those 'path' lines, like the red, blur green Etc..

  • @ToxikZombieVomit

I think what you're referring to is the color of the particular lines that are in that particular layer. Each layer has a different color for the path lines assigned to it.

  • @jonathonlt1 Yeah. is there anyway to get rid of them. and also I have the light/portable version and I can't find 'Live Trace'.. Am I just not looking hard enough or does that version not have it? ):

  • where can you get a tablet?

  • @rubyxxrad

They're available online. Amazon carries them. Best Buy even has them in stock as well as some camera stores.

  • @jonathonlt1 thanks so muchhh

  • I love this. 2 questions though.

1: What size brush are you using?

2: What wacom tablet are you using?

  • @SCBDesigns

    1. It varies between the 3pt round and the 5pt round.

    2. This was done using an Intuos 3 Wacom Tablet. (Older.)

  • i dont have illustrator, but could you tell me a bit about this brush tool? does it always automatically make the drawing look smooth or was this some other type of tool?

  • who did the cover for this song ? link me please :) or just tell me the guys name lol x

  • @markafroman1 I Think its "Howie Day "

  • Was the sketch originally pencil drawn and then scanned and saved into the computer? or was it created by using the touch pad and drawing it in illustrator?

  • @anthonyontherocks

The original was penciled by hand, then scanned. The rest was Illustrator and Photoshop. :)

  • hey mate nice work do you still have the finished work of this. i am after a good drawing of Marilyn for a tattoo?

  • @thegarthgoodviewshow

I think there's a view of it on my deviantart site. Go there and do a search for Marilyn. Thanks!

  • @jonathonlt1 thanks man

  • wow, amazing artistry! And also, I love this version of wonderwall! :D

  • I thought you were drawing Merilyn Manson

  • What a brush you use? Maybe you use several brushes? Maybe you change a size of brush?

  • what are the settings of the brush?

  • What tool is that pls

  • @pwiddypictures

    Brush tool.

  • That song is amazing.

  • that's a sad cover of a happy song

  • whats the song?

  • @Opium1958 Ryan Adams-Wonderwall

  • Great job! I wish I had your skills... But what about the music? Where can I get it?

  • Cool! i love creating logos and other types of graphic art mainly in Illustrator! here are a few of my creations, check them out if you will: 1337designs(dot)wordpress(dot)com

  • @Baloo0088

Very nice designs! Check out your site. Keep up the good work! I have other videos too....this was the first that started it all. :)

  • @jonathonlt1 Cheers mate! I will put a link on my blog to your videos, send some views your way, keep up the good work!

  • what tool?

  • super pro.

  • What tool of illustrator did you use?

  • Que buen video... y que habilidad la que tienes... Excelente!!!

  • @Mrthestyle1 Thank you for being ever so rude about it, I noticed it after I left the comment you ass.

  • Wow! I know it takes long time excruciating practice to achieve such dexterity with the Paintbrush Tool but I love the fluidity in your strokes. If only you shared the brush tool's options and preferences settings it will go along way.

    thanks for the video, anyways!

  • @ssodangi

See my other videos. This one is older. I have since developed tutorials.

  • @xxcoacoababiexx looks like you're unable to read the title of the videos you watch

  • Illustrator is made by Adobe. No it's not free. See my other tutorials for more info.

  • whoops didnt read title idk if old comment posts

  • what program is this and is it free?

  • @FlazeTheHedgehog1 so, looks that you're unable to read comments or a title, in the very FIRST! comment you can see what program is and that it isn't free

  • @Mrthestyle1 you know you already have gave this critism too some1 so i guess you can vai al diavollo check a italian dictionary

  • @FlazeTheHedgehog1 and looks like you can't even accept something, asi que te puedes ir a chingar a tu pinche puta madre and check a spanish dictionary.

  • @Mrthestyle1 nah no time Plus i sometimes randomly click things cuz i think that it has something too do with what ive searched earlier

  • Hi, I was wondering how you got the lines to smooth themselves out i can't figure out how to do that

  • you are using a pen (tablet) or a mouse? tnks!

  • @oMarginall

    Wacom Tablet.

  • @jonathonlt1

    Cool! \o_

  • Wow i have always been a fan of photoshop and until recent didnt quite see how powerful illustrator can be for banner, shirt, logo and pretty much any designs that will need to be enlarged.

Luckly i have always loved the pen tool. It there an easier way of redoing a vector i did with a pen tool in photoshop, in illustrator?

    Great vid btw

  • parabens cara fica muito bom ....não sabia que o ilustrator fazia isso..

  • @KubaBooba

That's correct. See my other videos for further explanation.

  • Blob brush?

  • How are your lines being automatically corrected?

  • Good work but don't get into the habit of too many undos. It will destroy your skills.

  • too fast but it's nice

  • dude your really good

  • what type of stroke did you use man? Awesome job by the way man :)

  • cool nice lineart

  • Hey buddy,good job!But I have a question:Is the picture you finished a vectorgraph or pixel?

  • @slivedkillu

The finished inked drawing is a vector. Thanks for the kind words! :)

  • @jonathonlt1 THX for your answer. It helps my friend a lot.I'm not an illustrator, but I like your works.

  • may i ask you a stupid question? .__.

You are using the brush tool, don't you? how do you make it that the lines don't dissapear? i mean, whenever i try to draw like this, the lines dissapear if i connect them..

oh i think i can't explain it very well.. i hope you know what i want to say? ._.

  • @herzverrueckt

See my other tutorial. Explains that.

  • @jonathonlt1

    thank you very much!

  • awesome whos singing this song?

  • @TheTattooninja Ryan Adams version of Oasis' Wonderwall (i think)

  • Wow, awesome skills. Is illustrator usefull for creating designs for T-shirts?

    Martin

  • @hansdekabouter

Don't see why not. Illustrator comes in handy for designing just about anything.

  • what are ur brush settings

  • This is awesome! I watched this about 6 mnth ago and I've been inking like a pro!haha Now though I'm wondering how you color the drawing in illustrator? The fill doesn't work so well once you've used the bbrush tool

  • @IfunyunsI

Never tried coloring with Illustrator, other than flat easy fills. I've always used Photoshop for that. But I bet it could be done using the laso tool or polygon tool.

  • i've stayed tuned for 30 mins now, and part 2 isnt starting yet?

  • what are are using

  • @the619flash

    Wacom Pad. Intuos 3.

  • @jonathonlt

    ok thanks

how did you get that kind of brush storkes and are you using the grip pen

  • @the619flash

See my other inking video. I explain my settings more in that video. It's the one with the Audrey Hepburn drawing.

  • cheeters

  • you use the mouse?or Pen on the mousepad?

sry but i dont know how it call in english

  • @nadadenadak

    Wacom Tablet and pen.

  • great work, which program are you using?

  • its just tracing and he has a wecom tablet so...its way easier.. but it does take a steady set of hands.

  • It makes me feel better to see I am not the only one that goes back over line multiple time.

  • oasis does that song so much better

  • thats crazy

  • What program is this?

  • @DieucraDer a awesome one

  • Noice work! I see you have trouble with disappearing curves all the time. Maybe you should deactivate the 'keep selected' option.

  • Wow, you've got some serious skill. And some seriously nice hardware.

  • I notice that you're varying your line widths... is there a general rule to this?

I read a tutorial saying that it has to do with the shading... but then I read another tutorial that says it has to do with how close that object is to the viewer. The closer the object is, the thicker the line should be.

  • See my other video for details on that. That will help you.

  • are you using the pen tool or the brush tool for this illustration?

  • @lpparanoia

    Brush Tool.

  • @jonathonlt1 muchas gracias

  • @jonathonlt1

How come yout lines don't look bumpy or sketchy?

Mine do all the time D:

  • que talpulso cuantos pajasos te emtiste antes de hacer lo a

    good good

  • this one is great!

  • What tablet is ?

  • hey bro are u using only the mouse, or you have a tablet?

  • He uses a tablet.

  • what is the best tablet to have?!

  • KILLLLER! WOW, just WOW

  • thanks for the info :)

  • Hi great vid btw! I 've been looking at tuts and was wondering in Illustrator the colouring, can you blend using a brush like in PS? Or is it gradients only? Thanks

  • Thank You Very Much for this video.

  • Who did this cover of wonderwall?

  • RESPEKT

  • wow, PLEASE do a tut on inking! :)

  • :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • and how can set some pressure settings on illustrator I have a wacom tablet 24 ich

  • whats are your settings. I try to paint but it's not work he select an line and he goes over the line I make sorry for my english can you give an anwer back please

  • You seem to know how to draw characters, if you learnt Illustrator to the max then you'd be unstoppable. I'd love to know what you thought to my stuff on Deviant, search "whiskey-art"

    -_^

  • FFS I none of these vids explain diddly squat.

  • Why do you want to know? I just checked your Deviant account, you're rly good.

    ^_^

  • There's always stuff to be learnt ;)

Besides, I'm not all that good with illustrator =P

  • CS4 pretty much sucks, it's like CS3 with only a few more complicated features

  • Are you crazy? Its worth it just for the new Gradient tool. Not to mention 3D, the blob tool, multiple artboards. Illustrator CS4 is one of the best upgrades of the entire CS4 Suite.

  • Its good to know that the only way to sufficiently achieve a varying stroke width that I've been looking for is with the pressure sensitivity. I need an intuos4 NOW.

  • I'm fairly new to all of it, and it seems like (particularly because my skills are still growing) the intuos4 has features I just don't need right now... so I'm getting the bamboo fun to start, and we'll see how it goes...

  • Comment removed

  • this is awesome!

  • How do u make the lines look like that?

  • See my tutorial video. That will help you to understand.

  • Are you using a Cintiq or Intuos??

  • Intuos.

  • Double click the paint brush tool. In that pop-up window, make sure NONE of those lower items are checked. That should take care of it.

  • PLEASE somebody tell me- how do I make it so my brush is previewed as I draw, how to make it so that my new lines don't modify my old ones and how to remove that stupid path guide after each line.

    Thanks.

  • you mean you have it set to outlines and everything looks just black and white??

  • Having the same problem. When I'm done with a line it stays selected. Then my next line modifies the last instead on making new.

  • This maybe a little late, as you commented 7 months ago, but command (or ctrl on pc) + SHIFT+A will deselect the line you just created and allow you to make a new one.

  • Marilyn :3

  • It was the same tool. (Brush.) This was all done using the same diameter brush as well.

  • what tool did u use to fill the hole in the hair 0.24

  • Oooo, great song. I love this cover.

  • You make it look so easy. Great work!

I was just curious if you had a portfolio site? I'd really like to see some of your other work.

  • If you click on my channel, you can view the link for my homepage. For some reason, it's not letting me put my link in a comment...
