Thanks for posting...sometimes I'm to lazy to bust out my CD good to hear it again. Wrote this coming home from an Orbital concert in Atlanta with Tony.
By far my favorite Venus Hum song. I am a sucker for siren's call (strong female vocalists) and Venus Hum delivers. I particularly enjoy her flexibility during the chorus and that after the bridge, the flexibility gets fiercer(?). EVERY SINGLE TIME I listen to it, that brings a tear to my eye out of appreciation for such a beautiful voice and execution. I don't know exactly what the song is about, but how meningful it is to the vocalist really hits home. Thank you for this song, Venus Hum.
This girl is like an iceberg...lots more to come....real 21st century sound...at last something we can say YES we are making progress here...the fact that she is a truly sincere person is a very big bonus.
I am no mother alone."....that's the impression I get anyway, Annette's lyrics are often very cryptic. Took me years to realise "You Break Me Down" was about her vocal nodes and how she was worried she'd never sing again.
One of my favourite tracks off the 1st record, after reading the lyrics I can't help but feel that it's about infertility? How she's longing to have her own little children to play in the snow with...quite sad and poignant.
Good point. You might be right. Is that "radio shocked me in the tub last night" part about suicide? I hope it's just lyrics and not her, of all people!
@sportgrappler Good point XD. Well considering this is from almost twelve years ago, I think if she had the intention, she would've done something by now.
What a masterpiece. Is it just me, or are her lyrics about little kids somehow sweet and uplifting and healthy in a way. Makes me feel that, if a pop singer is singing about caring for little kids, then our society can't be so bad.

I got this album back when Kip was auctioning them off on eBay. It's actually a very good album. Wooly Snow is my favorite VH song.
