At the very end it looked like the vette's tires had lost traction, drafting the stang took away what down force he had, and he put down too much power?
Why the consistently early turn in and inside line at 10a? You ruin your exit out of 10b. If you get 10b right you can setup for a pass on the front straight.
@JElterman - I just watched again going to each trip down into 10A. I don't see any consistent early turn into 10A... that's how we take it. The times I'm track left are either wating to be in his left mirror closing fast like I'm going to try a pass or due to traffic. Regardless I always had the run into 11 and down through 12.
@ffrgtm - NO! See the last two lpas fighting with Kevin Cliffor'ds RX-7 here. Lost it on the last lap. See my other video titled "Saturday Thundar Race ST2 12-2012 Small" for some reason I can't link a url in the comments.
And yeah... I yell at my car and tall it to go faster. 3rd place pays 1 tire so at one point I may or may not have said, "I WANT MY TIRE BITCH!!!" Too many years of playing competitive sports in my blood.
That looked like some serious fun - I think around minute 9:09 I heard you hoorahing! I have to ask though - what the hell was up with that 944. We see him in the beginning and then nothing after a couple minutes. Holy crap, fastest 944 ever!
@kiljoy33 Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I see that 944 at the start and see him kind of pull away to never been seen again. Exact same thing I was thinking "jesus that 944 is quick".
Alex - He's fine and the car is banged up but fixable. He should have it back on track in a few months. Needs a new hood, front bumper, left fender, left quarter, rear bumper and trunk lid. Luckily C5s are easy to fix and easy to find parts. The frame needs a little fixing but it's not too bad.
Well that's racing :) It's his job to keep me behind him and I could never make a pass stick. I was trying to push him hard and get in his mirrors in hopes he'd eventually screw up, but I didn't want him to screw up coming onto the front straight at RA... that's about the worst place you could ever mess up. We're all friends out there and all amateurs paying our own way.
That black Z wouldn't give up the position when you clearly were turning faster lap times. I thought you were going to run into the back of him several times. You outbraked him by a ton and had a run on him about half a dozen times but backed out to preserve your car. I was waiting for something bad to happen..

That's a ST1 car... he's at 5.5 lbs/horse vs us at 8.7 lbs/horse. Has a worked over LS3 in it.
