Why are ccfcobro and others hogging this posting arguing about the Royals? I'm sure the monarchy must be quaking in it's boots because ccfcobro doesn't like it. Actually ccfcobro's views don't matter a damn simply because the UK becoming a Republic is a complete non-issue. @349quinman Nice sweeping generalisation, not all soldiers look up the royals you fuckwit, some are there for money, some are there for pride of their country (not pride of the royals) and others are in the forces for a variety of reasons. Also dont try and make out soldiers are all elite killing machines, im a kickboxer and wrestler so i can fight thanks, but i have no intention of fighting a squaddy, because again, i respect our forces, just not the 'crown'.

@ccfcobro As a serving SNCO in the British Army I swore to defend my Queen and her heirs and successors, so does every other serviceman and woman. We love them like they were our own family. Most of us are not proud of what Britain and it's civillian population have degenerated into. most of us would make far more money in the private sector but choose to stay in for the love of the job and the unique "espirit de corps" that only a life in the services can offer.

If any current or ex service members are reading this I'm sure they will agree; a soldier CHOOSES (unless conscripted ofc) to lose their rights in protection of others. Be that a government and monarchy, foreign or domestic civilians and when you've been with them in combat- your muckers.

As to "carnage" and "death"-that's what soldiers do. Kill and die. It's not glorious at all.
