  • Show a video on how to make it step by step lol PLEASE and THANK YOU i believe we would all want to kno how to make this step by step so please make a tutorial on this

  • i have read your instructions over and over for the past 5 hours and they dont make any sense and your schematic is really hard to read. could you please make a video on how to make this.

  • I'm using a computer power supply. So I have a red and black that's putting out 5v. I have it connected to - and + on the USB. Just need to know how I can get the 2v to the data lines.

  • you should make a good 10min. video telling us how to make that charger

  • Nvm read and found my answer

  • What resistors did you use to get the 2 volts to the data lines? Please and thank you

  • cool video but you should of made how to video

  • Hey can u make a tut. Of it i really want to kno how to make one and so far urs is the best i found but with out tut. Can u plz make one thank u

  • Where did you buy the female usb?

  • @Zaxplab

It was the end of a USB extension cable i got at the dollar store.

  • could i make a usb to midi using one of these cans i got a usb jack and midi i just need some tech advice

  • @rockexpert I don't know much about midi. sorry

  • Best 1 yet

  • Hi , im going to make this but i don't got ipod or iphone i got lg , it's charges with 5 volts too , is it going to work?

  • Best Altoids charger i have seen so far. :D Good job man

  • wat pins do u use to charge an ipod touch 2nd gen plz reply!!

  • @electronics740 I think it's the same as mine (3rd gen). You need to use all the USB pins. red wire = 5v, black = ground, the other 2 are data lines and they need to have 2v each. I used a voltage divider with 2 33K resisters and 2 22K resisters to get the 2v.

  • how did make the holes on the tin so u can fit the switch and usb PLZZ RESPOND

  • @fishheart100 Yup, I drilled the holes for the switch and the led. I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel for the USB hole. You could use a drill and a file if you wanted. Let me know how it turns out.

  • @GeekGuyMJ well i dont have a dremel so do u have any recomandations on how to do it otherwise

  • rly nice

  • i built the same thing but i used a different method to get the iDevice to charge.

  • The problem is..I DONT HAVE THE SYNC CABLE!

  • @Jellythedog02 answer = ebay

  • Hey can I have a schmatic

  • Hi where do I get the surkit board just tell me plzzzzz I beg you so much

    THANKS

  • @sonicandvideos ebay, amazon, radio shack, maplin electronics, etc etc

  • @brandon14872 ok but are you in uk or ireland or us

  • Cool now let me have it

  • What did you do with the 2 data pins? Some people say cross them over one another, or a 150ohm resistor. PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • Could I get a schematic please? In about 2 days?

  • did you make a circuit diagram for it cause i wanna make one for my tech class

  • very neat and slick. nice!

  • Hey ! I need a litte bit help, becaus i made a normal usb charger like you but, with just the voltage regulator, and 9v batterie, it works with my brother's mp3 player, but not with my ipod touch, my device doesn't charge ! The capacitor and resitor is really obligatory ? Why the two data pins are connected ? i don't know . Thancks for you future response :)

  • @bigoud55800

Hi, I should start by saying I am not a pro but just a hobbiest. Your bro's mp3 just needs a +5V and ground to charge while Apple has made it very difficult to charge their mp3 devices. They want you to have to buy their chargers. An iPod Touch not only needs the +5V and ground but also a signal through the 2 data lines of +2.0V each telling the iPod that it's OK to start charging. You need to make a V splitter with 75K and 49.9K restesters. The caps are to smooth the current.

  • @GeekGuyMJ Okey ! But are you sure of you resistor and capacitor values ? Because i saw a different values of your values, like 400kohms or 150k or 220k etc... And for the capacitor 0,1nF 10nF 100uF. It' s very different ! And do you have the schematics to how to connect the conponents. Where do you find your sources ? Thancks agin for your quick answer, and sorry for my bad english :S

  • @GeekGuyMJ thanks

  • @GeekGuyMJ I will buy one for 40 dollars, seriously

  • hi! interesting, but you'll run out of 9volt battery pretty soon. At most 1 or 2 cycles? I guess that´s better use it with a rechargeable batteries or just keep it for emergencies.

  • why dnt you make a tutorial dude

  • does this work for iphone 4?

  • @iMusicProfile I just tried it for you and YES it will charge a iPhone 4

  • can i buy this from u please

  • do you think you could make a tutorial on this please. it looks really cool and i ywould like to build one.

  • dude this is sooooooo cool!!!!!!!!! nice vid

  • @rawman567 Thanks

  • can i buy that from you? my dad wont let me go to radio shack to get the stuff needed....apperantly its "a waste of money"

  • I just tried another idea. I hooked a 9v battery to my regular iPod touch car charger and it works great.

  • Just but a generic auto charger and take the guts out of it and, BINGO!! ya got all the parts ya need.

  • It would be greatly appreciated if you posted a tutorial. I am in dire need of one of these chargers and this happens to be the coolest one. Mad props!

  • Can you please post a tutorial or tell us how to make on this is really cool an we woul. Love to make one. !!!

  • Please show a tutorial, or atleast a diagram. I am in need of one of these chargers because my phone dies a lot, and I have the parts to make it. I already have leds, voltage regulators, switches, everything!

  • Hey matt could you show me how to make one of those. I would love to have one.
