  • We need to clear some confusion here. There is an English version of this song sung by Eddie Peregrina whose title is 'Memory of Our Dreams'. The composer/lyricist is Danny Subido a prolific composer with a lot of song credits to his name in the Philippines back in the '60's. There was a lot of song swappings in Asia during those times so we really need somebody to do research on the Japan side with regards to the composer not lyricist.

  • Belle voix, très puissante et authentique ! La meilleure chanteuse : elle a du talent et elle ne se trahit pas comme la petite gugusse d'Ajaccio

  • tres bonne chanteuse. j'adore!!

  • It deep and came,wonderful!!

  • i know her from teh movie kill bill...

since then, i fall in love with her voice.

every song of her, is perfect for a sunday morning romance....

  • somehow evrybody knows her from the Kill Bill soundtrack and somehow evrybody start from the movie yeah Taranitino have a good music taste

he choise Gheroge Zamfir with the loneley shepard in the scene as Betrix Kidow becomes her katana from Hatori Hanso. Back to Kaji Maiko

she have a unique voice thats true

  • Me too. Such an beautiful voice.

  • I am desperate since we dont have Meijko Kami CD's in Finland ( have to order them because I WANT to have them)

PS: makes me want to study Japanese language......

  • Try to listen here in youtube too in english version by Eddie Peregrina title of the song is Memories Of Our Dreams

  • Eddie looks like Japanese though ...nice

  • Ms. Kaji is not so recognized as the singer in Japan, but the cool actress.

So We have few variation of her CDs.

Another version of this song by Keiko Fuji is more popular than this in Japan.

She is the mother of Hikaru Utada, female singer comparatively known outside of Japan.

  • omg, my parents were listening to this the other day. hahahaha.

  • 艶めかしくて良い歌ですね。

  • wahh... i truly love her songs.. and her voice.. this song is particularly beautiful.

  • 素敵な声ですね。

  • One of my favourite Meiko Kaji's songs. Above all, I like the development, as the piece, after the brief piano introduction, starts with the monodic singing of Meiko, and grows and grows till a well definied culminant point. Hear the first apparition of that element at 41" which will be developed according to the charachter of the music more animated in the development. At 3'03 everything reaches the culminant point, till, at 3'26, the singing voice almost without hope. How much I love this!

  • 圭子もいいけど、芽衣子もめちゃいい!

    妖艶!!

  • 「女囚さそり」の芽衣子ですね。

  • that i call good music

  • this is pure acid.this is really beautiful and harmonic sounds.bring it on into our new future.this is truely all about pure music.lovely nice evolutionar.why is it first up to date??????

  • harika bir kadın... cool

  • who wrote this song? Mikami Kan? i knew this song in his version before.

  • According to Wikipedia (in Japanese), at first Koumei Sone heard original song in reformatory, and then he edited and arranged it. There are many variations of different lyrics now. But, I think those songs have something gloomy and underground commonly. I think Keiko Fuji's version is most gloomy (she is Utada's mother). She sang grudge against poverty and sad life, frankly. According to Wikipedia, Kan Mikami's version had been banned on air until recently. Regretfully, I've never heard.

  • thanx! well - comparing to Mikami's version, i think Kaji Meiko's much better expressing the sensitivity and melancholy in this tune. Mikami's also great, recorded originally in his 1st album, but (i don't know the lyrics) maybe, i suppose, his purpose is different. i'm surprised to hear that his version was censored! well... interesting also.

  • the reason that Mikami Kan's version banned was, the lyric means leftist protester's life. as you know, in 1960's students were protesting and rioting in the city almost everyday. Mikami Kan's version talk like this : "mumbling Sartre or Marx but tomorrow's weather from the circle. from Yakuza's movie sign so my dreams bloom at night"

  • 艶がある~~(=^・^=)

  • The original of this song was by the sexy Sono Mari, my childhood heart-throb, back in the mid 60s.

Covered later by Fuji Keiko (mother of Utada Hikaru) What a beautiful face - Keiko that is, not Hikaru. And a voice not unlike Helen Merryll.

This is the first time I heard this version but it looks like I need to fing out more about Kaji Meiko.

  • putamente buena, conmovedora.....la puta hostia maldita

  • she is so bad ass..

  • unbelievable

  • Meikohemeiko here
