This one's a classic. It's a shame that J.D. Short is still mostly unknown even though Folkways tried to expand his exposure by teaming him up with Son House for an album in '63. Here's some fun triva. Short was jealous of Henry Townsend's success and stabbed him twice. Later, Townsend got his revenge with a gun and blew off both of J.D.'s testicles. True story.
