  • man, i never heard Robert Smith this good. I always laugh everytime I listen to this because his voice really amazes me. The rage in his voice is so intense, much better than screaming and shrieking in metal music.

  • i cant believe people dislike this song, well if they are Cure fans then they probly dislike Smiths first 5 albums, because this song harkens back to the cures early material, alot of this album does tbh...

another thing i hate is just because a song is bass heavy people call it new metal, please dont compare post punk groups that are bass heavy with crap like Slipknot or Korn :/ its just insulting to people who actually like good music

  • @hellchild65 Love your opinion, man :} Not everyone can appreciate good music.. they criticize with their minds without listening with their hearts first..

  • @hellchild65

I understand where you're coming from, but...of the two bands you listed as crap, Corey Taylor is a great lyricist/vocalist, and Jonathon Davis is such a unique mind/personality, and likewise, and incredible lyricist.

I dislike most "new nu metal", but korn, and slipknot definitely (had) something going for them.

  • @hellchild65 not really...I'm a huge fan of The Cure but I also like The Smiths, I have all of their albums, it's a freedom to appreciate all genres of music... :)

  • @hellchild65 I think that comes from the fact that Robert Smith was actually hanging out with Korn and Slipknot a lot while making this album.

  • everybody is a victim of a trend though be it emo, goth, grunge, punk, metal, indie, shoegaze, rave etc.

  • @nikt how bout a victim of life? haha it makes sense

  • @954isme haha true (sadly)

  • The vocals and the instruments sound great, but they don't match to me.

  • this shit is the best!!!!!!!!

  • <3 i love resident evil

  • I was listening to The Cure when you emo kids were shitting your pants, and licking windows. These are the grandfather's of Goth, and have absolutely fuck all to do with your sad excuse for a scene. GOTH is not EMO. Your first fucking lesson, second lesson, respect your fucking elders.

  • @razorinyourapple you tell 'em, i might be a generation too young for them, but they're still good in my books, and totally unique

  • I hated the movie but I loved the soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't decide whether this song is about the Bush era "You're with us or against us" nationalistic-fevered propaganda to whip Western nations into worldwide conflict or whether it's about the medieval nihilism of the caliphate fundamentalists who oppose this. Or, perhaps, this song is about both sides being fundamentally the same - rigourously against any compromise, forcing a mass of people to accept + fight for an outcome, and ultimately end up with a landscape of blood, bullets & shells...

  • Such a gut-wrechingly great song. It elevates this movie soundtrack to greatness.

  • Alternative rock, gothic rock, New Wave, post-punk

  • there would be no emo without the cure and emo is bullshit

  • more than a looser :'( .......fuck i fell this ..shittttttttt

  • Best song live, the band really pulls you...

    Cheers

  • lol the singer is like 50somethin!!!!STill rockin hard!!!!!P.S. the resident evil movies sucked so hard!!!But the cure rocks!!!

  • there guy are awesome great song

  • ya robert sounds freakin awesome when he sings

  • the cure freak!n rox hard!!

    espec!ally this song

  • this song is THE BADASS STUFF I MEAN I DONT WANT YOU ANYWHERE NEAR ME I can totally relate this to a exgirl u know what i mean?

  • No, the song talks about politics, about refusing to divide the world in two categories: a good and a bad one (us vs them).

  • i love this song i love when robert sings angry

    he is amazing

    the cure rock!

  • Cure Nation !!!

  • oh yea !!

  • My favourite cure song back in high school, tried to kill myself one time while listening to this

  • that makes u cool :D

  • The cure rocks...

  • the cure has been rocking since the late 70's

  • late 60's to be exact

  • Robert Smith was born in 1959 so idk how much rocking he was doing in the 60's ,but the past 30 years of the cure has been good =) When a band can last 30 years that really says something about the music lol here i am 20 years after i figured out who the cure was and im still listening lol ...I <3 The Cure =D

  • these lyrics describe exactly how i feel.

  • rs sounds sounds brilliant when he's angry.

  • the cure cannot be containted into one genre of rock, they have songs that reach all the spectrums of rock ill list some examples

    metal-us or them (the cure)

    techno rock- wrong number(galore

    goth- hanging gardens (pornography)

cabaret- love cats (staring at the sea)

pop- friday im in love (wish)

    emo- letter to elise (wish)

punk- killing an arab (three imaginary boys)

ochestral- this is a lie (wild mood swings)

as you can see, the cure isnt restricted by genres, so lets not label them

  • EXACTLY, and that's what makes them a great rock band! They stayed with how it started out as, fuck labels, just play and make great music! ONE!!!!!!!

  • @fightvicegrip And how about "pictures of you"? I mean, how do you even classify that song? It is my personal all time favorite of the The Cure's vast library. One of the greatest bands of all time.

  • great song

  • Masterful piece of maximum-resolution free jazz. May be a little too quick for people expecting old cure though...

  • This song is awesome XD

  • THE CURE , RULES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

  • The cure rules

  • yeah the movies are pish, the games where the best games ever

  • Awesome soundtrack!!!

  • there's no way you can define which genre The Cure belongs to. their music covers many genres and they play it all good.

  • i like this song better than re. probalby because i'm a huge cure fan.

  • major RE fan but not the greatest song in the world

  • how is this song horrible? i don't get it!

tis an incredible song... great bassline, strong vocals, awesome drumming...

what is there not to like about it? explain yourself please?

  • hell yeah the cure goes way back into the late 70's man with joy division classic goth music man

  • @kayanina well said

  • @kayanina THIS IS REALLY WEIRD :-s

I did not post the above comment, but I was notifitied of the reply DeathlyStrange posted to "my" comment in my mailbox :-s:-s

Something seriously wrong. How is this possible??

  • @kayanina I really hope your right, its been dominating the music industry since 2004 cant wait until its gone

  • @kayanina oh shut the fuck up......unless you have a music degree or work in the industry and have experiance signing bands you know fuck all.

  • @kayanina emo is exactly what you said it is.If you're talking about the new bullshit emo :P

    Emo.originally is music :P

  • @kayanina you were wrong :P still live in kicking...unfortunately :(

  • u spelt apocalypse wrong twat

  • in German it is spelled with a "k" instead of a "c". And I can image that German is not the only language.

  • you spelt "spelled" wrong

  • You spelled 'you' wrong, dickhead.

  • Why do people ALWAYS descuss what genre a band is?

Seriously, it's not like all their songs are exactly the same genre anyway...

If you ask me, I'd say Cure makes Alt rock, goth rock, punk rock and new wave.

  • this song is awesome.

  • THE CURE IS A CULT BAND!!

  • omfg!! great song!!

  • dem good song

  • the cure is alternative rock, not emo, goth, punk, pop, new wave NOOOOOOO IS ALTERNATIVE, DAMN PEOPLE WHY IS SO DIFICULT TO LEARN!!!!...

  • relax man

  • Chill...>> The Cure falls into a hell of a lot of genres, none of them being emo, for sure, but it's definitely impossible to define them as any one genre.

  • i totally agree with you, the cure does have a few emo songs though, you have to admit, songs such as bare, letter to elise, treasure...i love the cure alot, my favorite band by far, but to exclude them from a genre, just because you dont like it is ridiculous

  • Your saying,The Cure is emo music? I hope not because if you say so,Your terribly wrong,They're Alt Rock ;o

  • God, Im ADDICTED!!!!!

  • LOVE this song. Very powerful . . . and the drums to it are awesome. <3

  • i wish the cure made a music video out of this song.

  • There is no terror in my heart

    Death is with us all

We suck him down with our first breath

And spit him out as we fall

There is no terror in my heart

    No dread of the unknown

Desire for paradise to be... ooohhh yeah Us or Them - The Cure!!!!

  • get a life- no seriously- get a life

  • umm... whats wrong about knowing a song text? just coz he lisents to the music and likes it dosent maen he dont have a life, i know like over 100 song textes :S i just like music, he might like it 2?
