@guismiti ...hey, you guys, I am Polish, so I would know. Rubinstein was born and raised in Poland (which then did not exist as a country), in the city of Lodz, and christened (no, he was not christened, he was Jewish) as Artur, because that is the standard Polish spelling. After that, when he lived in all sorts of countries, "they" messed with his first name so bad, that he did not care any more, so there is no standard. At least we know his first name is not Mary or Ophelia or..
@guismiti ...I personally like to call him Jennifer. Jennifer Rubinstein, it sounds so, well, musical. But when I am in a hurry, which is usually, I just call him Ruby.
Yes, this version is probably the gold standard of this waltz. Notice the perfect fingering, phrasing, pedaling, and overall musicality. A great intellect as well, if one ever gets a chance to see "...Love of Life..". A very rare musician.
IN MY OPINION ARTUR RUBINSTEIN AND VLADIMIR HOROWITZ ARE THE BEST CLASSIC PIANO CONCERT PLAYERS OF ALL THE TIME. THE TECNIC, THE WAY AS THEY PLAY EVERY NOTE IS PERFECT , VERY CLEAN . MOST PART OF THE PLAYERS CAN´T DO THIS.
This is just perfect! He is genious. Piyano is very easy to play, anybody can do it. The critical issue is how you play it. That's the challange. I wish I could play like him but not possible I know. He is gifted.
The proof that play piano with feeling doesn't require strange and stramobotic movements
Lang Lang has to check this video.

If I was Rubinstein and played this that beautifully, I would burst into tears after 10 seconds.

This was, I think, from an early TV program, circa 1950. Rubinstein was about
63 at the time this was filmed. I wonder if it was really filmed in his NY apartment.
You get the feeling you're invited to a private recital at his home.
