  • that doesn't sound like an alto it sounds like a soprano to me

  • cool!!

  • nice! ;-)

  • How did you get the MIDI for this key? The MIDI in the challenge video is in F, which would be fine if I had an ocarina tuned in C. You're playing in the key I want, though. (The only ocarina I have that doesn't disturb my neighbors is tuned in F.) I'm at a loss here..

Very nice playing, by the way :)

  • nice dude

  • Great!

  • Very very very very very good, though i have a question. Ain' t the pinky supposed to be on the hole all the time? XD It sounds fake when i play like that...

Very well played anyways, i have the same ocarina XD You bought it at stlocarina also eh? You got a folksong book and zelda themes book with it? If so its the exact same one XD

  • wow!! that was really good! =) i like your blue occarina!

i'd like to have one! TuT hehe

    keep on it!

    ^^

  • subscribed.

Although your left pinky being lift up as the major fifth confuses me to no avail D:

    Why do you do that?

  • I think maybe I'm just resting it on the ocarina for stability or something. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @MrTea214 ha ha, no, ur ocarina has a very peculiar fingering setup. but u still managed to master it well. excellent job

  • Wonderful ! Keep sharing your talent !

  • Good job!

  • Best response to Doc's challenge

  • Agreed

  • Wonderfully played - great style.

  • ...! I see someone who uses the same fingering as I do! Hurrah for more use of the left pinky for accidentals!

Very well done sir! Nice and clean!

  • That was really good!! This piece is so fun to play. =]

  • thats my same ocarina as mine but i have a zelda signe on it

  • Nice!! :)

Are you playing the sharps/flats with your right index finger..? Is that something special for that ocarina? *confused* ^^,

  • Wow, what a keen observation! I think what you are noticing is that I am using LH 1,2 RH 1 to play most (all?) of the "Mi"s (written A, but sounding D on my oc.) instead of the LH 1,2,4 that is the "standard" fingering for that note according to STL. I started on a Songbird extended range Sweet Potato so the whole transverse ocarina fingering scheme is still new to me. Thanks to the great YouTube ocarina community for encouraging me to learn how to play my new toy! :)

  • wow, very nice played D:

im practising this atm, and i find it quite hard to keep up with the MIDI.. its going too fast for me XD but i guess i'll just do some more practicing so i can become this good :D

  • Nice!!

  • FLAWLESS! lol. This was an awesome rendition...well done sir :)

  • Hehe thanks for the comment. Making ocarina videos is tough , you make it look quite easy! In the end I had to choose between a take when I actually hit the flat 6th or a take that I liked the consistency of style more... What I fun tune that I didn't know existed before this challenge was posted! I'll be lucky if I ever get it out of my head now.

  • hahaha, I know what you mean...this song has been stuck in my head for several days now! And as fun as it is to just play the ocarina, I've learned that making videos takes good scheduling, practice, and LOTS of patience, lol.

  • Nice dude ;D

    I love ocarina music ^^

I'm gonna buy my own ocarina soon =)

    Canaha

  • Really nice!! I'm just practising this now too.
