I remember the exact moment when I first seriously considered and accepted the possibility that the world was NOT going to end. It felt like I could enjoy life better, like all that anxiety just melted away. It's worth it to be alive and free.
@asubjectiveopinion Thanks. That movie was hilariously bad, but there was no guillotine involved. I think he was talking about another movie. It seems as though Christians have made a fair bit of unintentional comedy.
@asubjectiveopinion Christploitation is the exact name I've used to describe it to people. A Thief in The Night just had the feel of an exploitation film.
@NWOisBunk Oh. That's the one asubjectiveperson directed me to but there was no guillotine. Maybe you're confusing two movies. Or maybe you were being hyperbolic. Either way, it was a horrible movie.
@dsglop People being execute by guillotine does in fact occur in this film series. All of them perhaps have bled together in my mind so maybe no guillotine executions took place in the first film but they do occur. In one of them they have a bunch of prisoners in a church and they are given a chance to take the mark (Get it? In a church? Its an altar call for SATAN!) and if they don't.. a guillotine is setup in the parking lot.
the real bad thing about believing the so called Rapture is that some people who believe do things like sell their homes or quit their jobs because they think the "end times" is around the corner
I'm not entirely certain, but I think the film you are referring to was called 'A Thief In The Night'.
We were shown it at school during that horrible period in the early eighties when the christian-right was first trying to infiltrate the education system in the UK, it was around the same time as The ReachOut Trust and other SRA groups were similarly infiltrating social services.
All I recall is that my RE teacher switched it off, said it was inappropriate and then had a MASSIVE row with them.
It Moved to Oct 21 2011 I'm going to have a BBQ in celebration of idiots who believe that it will happen on that date.

Thanks to this video I've discovered that there is a whole genre of films like this, they're called christploitation movies.

I don't know if you have ever heard about this one but, I think it was the Mormons who produced a couple of films called The Buttercream Gang. :D

@asubjectiveopinion Damn it. Thank you. I forgot to mention the name of the movies. A Thief in The Night is absolutely correct.
