I don't think anyone can criticize Phish for not being able to pull of a Rolling Stones song, when Mick himself said their version of Loving Cup is the best Stones cover he's ever heard, and that Phish does it even better than the Stones ever did

phish idolizes the rolling stones....i think they know that no one can do the stones like the stones, but as all of us hacks do , they try and they play the songs they love, only because they love them, and phish knows their fans know theyre trying to sound as good as they possibly can and thats all they can do...and we will love them thru the thick and thin!!!!!

okey nobody take this so hard.. Iam a realy realy die-hard fan of the rolling stones, and shine a light is to me the best song ever..like ever.

And this realy isent good, even if they trie, ONLY stones can make it.

the vocals are weak, the band aint bad (but cant compare with stones)

And..damn, they shoud have knowned that..its a hard song too cover.

the thing is, we all love the rolling stones and love phish.. i might never get to see mick jagger singing this song live, but i can see my favorite band play it, which is awesome. So maybe it isn't as good, but its a celebration of the music, not phish trying to out-do one of the greatest bands of all time.

this was the encore at the last phish show i was at.... absolutely loved it, i remember looking at the lights as the guitar solo ripped through my soul and feeling absolute peace. there were a few foreign substances in my body helping me along too.

Top two shows of the tour IMO were Albany 2 (11.28 - biggest jamming of the year) and this one MSG3 (12.4)... tons of great playing throughout the tour though. Portland, Philly 1 was rockin and C-Ville closed the tour with a bang.
