  • I chose to analyze this for my Form and Analysis class and I nearly tore my hair out trying to figure out these harmonies and harmonic progressions.

  • Ravel is simply amazing! I could listen to this gorgeous work of art all day.

  • crazy viola player

  • These guys make Ravel sound like a genius.

  • @eBe4IXcept ravel WAS a genius.

  • fabulous performance. I remember coming across this particular performance 4 or 5 years ago on YT and I just keep coming back to it--lovely, thank you for sharing.

  • the person who dislike this must have pressed the wrong button...

  • I love this music, debussy, ravel... and some of my generation shit-music.

  • Today this group was performing in Yerevan. Armenia...loved to listen them, fantastic music!

  • 4.14 :)

  • Something to listen to when your day has been very stressful.

  • I'm 4 months old, and I love this. Haha, i hate my generation and their shit music.

  • Very good, but there is not quite enough relaxation to balance the agitato, in my view. the second violinist is more expressive than the first.

  • I love this interpretation - but I'm not sure it's above the St. Petersburg Quartet's recording in my mind. Incredible playing.

  • Masterful in all respects. The composition, the performers and even the visuals are all wonderful.

  • Are those fake instruments?

  • Vielen Dank fürs Hochladen. Wunderbar zu sehen und zu hören. Ein Feuerwerk der Gefühle!

  • @TheFasolt Du bist willkommen. Ich bin sehr froh, dass du es genossen!

  • @thegoodgeneral Tod den Juden!!

  • @TheApprentice007 I'm Jewish.

  • @yervor Get over yourself.

  • @thegoodgeneral yea thats nice. insult and make fun of kids who are actually interested in classical music. way to be a good example.

  • @MissChelseaMonet I don't know to what you're referring. And for whom am I supposed to be an example?

  • @yervor Umm I'm 14 soo.. ur not the youngest lol

I think I agree with thegoodgeneral

  • @yervor Not true, my friend

  • @yervor I'm 3

  • @yervor how old are you?

  • @yervor I'm 14

  • 3:25 , cello and violin playing in unison is the absolute gorgeousness. like in the piano trio and in Ma Mère l'oye ( flute and cello in unison)

    Ravel in such a genius

  • Ravel rules.

  • @PhillipPark90 A good performance (but bad compression quality, unfortunately) is at harpegirlDOTcom/repertoireDOThtml

  • @PhillipPark90 Ravel wrote for the quartet again in combination with harp (soloist), flute, and clarinet called "Introduction et Allegro." It emphasizes the harp's virtuosity rather than the quartet, but if you were craving more of this sound, you could took to that piece.

  • I didn't know Hillary Clinton played the violin

  • @aleerarose Well Bill Clinton plays the saxophone

  • I absolutely love this piece and my quartet really enjoyed performing it for Solo and Ensemble. It is a beautiful piece of music and I wish Ravel would have written more string quartets. One is just not enough.

  • @puphershey I'd prefer one amazing one versus a legion of unmemorable string quartets à la Mozart.

  • Klappsessel?

  • Superbe.

  • Death by Ravel.

  • one of my favourite movements from any work of music - the last 60 secs or so are divine - thanks for posting :)

  • This music means so much to me. Thank you for posting.

  • I love the second violin lines. Its so beautiful!!! I love the chords Ravel uses. He's such a genius when it comes to to that. You can actually tell that he put allot of himself in this piece. >>> Amazing.

  • The camera angles of this version is so much better. You could feel the painstaking precision and the connection of playing off each other - one hurling sparks and the other catching and returning sprays of sunlight.

  • Thank You for beautiful and fantastic music! :)

  • i always return to this to find inspiration. :)

  • Ravels music is responsible for the fact that I am still alive.

  • @mountainharry wow. really?

  • I feel like there were many instances where their instruments should've caught on fire... (4:15 to say the least)

  • real beauty

  • This is as exhilarating as a rock concert. No lie.

  • Oh, and of course for these fantastic musicians :)

  • Wow... Thank you evolution for giving us Ravel...

  • @AttemptingToBeBusy Your post is both funny and perceptive and I share it totally.

  • OMG! I'm so happy this was uploaded again!

It's my favorite performance, and the last time I searched for it, the user must had removed it from YouTube. Thanks so much.

  • @Atma505 I felt the same way when ClamBrush's videos were removed, so I got the avi and DVD for myself.

  • wonderful!!!

  • A great interpretation. Another great one to check out is the Ebenes quartet. They are equally amazing.

  • I'm astounded by the level of perfection in this live performance. the intonation is peerless possibly, made to serve the delicacy of their unified ear. top of the world qroup.

  • Their intonation is just the start. It goes beyond that, where their expressions and dynamics allow for the shift of focus from instrument to instrument. Top of the world group, I agree.

  • This is such a beautiful rendition of this string quartet. The violist really stands out as well...

  • Nice videos.

  • ? You mean the Ravel videos?

  • Just in general, your improvisations and all.

  • So glad this is back up...and in better quality no less! I don't see a playlist so I set it to one if you don't mind.

  • Yes, if I may say so, this is much better quality than Clambrush's original upload.

I actually did set it up to a playlist (go to my account and click on "playlists"), but it doesn't show up on the right-hand side.

  • che suono....complimenti!

  • panic when i first found it deleted earlier

really thanks for posting this again (:

  • You're welcome. ;)

  • OMG!! Words can' describe how grateful I am to you for reposting this!! Thanks so much!!! This is my favorite rendition of my favorite quartet. :D

  • Always good to hear I'm not alone in preferring this performance over all others!

  • Thanks for posting - looking forward to the remainder. Beautiful rendition...

  • You're welcome. Part 2 is up!
