  • Hi I need help. I got stuck at 11:20. The upper receiver got stuck! I tried to wiggle it off but nothing.

  • Man! You move fast!

  • Great video, thanks for the help - my Kimber Target II is so super clean inside and out now.

  • did you ever post a video of a slide disassembly...great vid, thanks!

  • How about a video showing in detail how to install a new trigger including all the needed adjustments to get it to function correctly in the 1911?All your vids are great and indepth!GOOD JOB!

Also how to tune the extracter.

  • the little spring in the series 80 sear assembly is a bitch

  • Good video. My friend showed me how to do all this and when I forget something, I can review your video to get straightened out.

  • I tried to install a Wilson mainspring housing on my Custom CDP II. I only had the MS housing, grip safety and the sear spring out of the gun. I transferred the spring assembly out of my plastic Kimber MS housing into the Wilson and followed your reassembly steps closey 3 times. The slide now will not clear the key shaped safety pin that prodrudes through the top of the frame. Only a smidge but it's hitting. What did I do wrong??!! Nice video, thx!

  • I don;t have a team match. The only thing that is different is the ambi safety. I uses the hammer pin as another attachment point which is different that most other ambi safeties expects kings. If I can find a gun that has that type thumb safety I will post a video.

  • Nice job.Do you have a video on the Kimber Team Match disassembly?

  • What size and type of bit/driver do you use so remove the mag release? I am looking to buy that specific tool...1/16th Hex??.....Please and Thank You Nice Video

  • @wtf09876

Im not sure on the size. If you go to amazon.com you can get the same srewdriver set that I have for about 10 bucks. Its made by wheeler.

  • @wtf09876 the sizes are 3/32 and 1/16 for the mag release

  • great video. my compact kimber ultra cdp 2 has an ambidextrous safety. how is this safety removed for frame disassembly? Thanks for your time

  • can i applly this to a rock island armory 1911

  • No the grip safety is working but the slide safety won't move and is stuck in the down down position

  • Excellent video. I'm a new sub but I really enjoy your channel. Very refreshing to find someone that actually knows what the hell their doing. You might want to change your channel name to "Mr 1911" Seems to fit. If you couldn't tell I am new to 1911's which seems a bit odd to say because I have been shooting for over 30 years! Thanks for the great info.

  • Appreciate the help, Only issue is the warrior has an ambidextrous safety (plus it's totally locked up if that has anything to do with anything) so I can't see any pins to punch it out, any ideas?

  • What do you mean by locked up? Do you mean the grip safety is not moving or the slide will not slide back? With some ambi safeties you have to take off the grips but it is not necessary on factory Kimber safeties. If you have any other questions, send me a PM.

    @kirkblackson

  • tried this to see if i could remove the lanyard loop on my warrior so I could put in a wilson combat beveled mag well... long story short i couldn't really get it to work and now with the frame completely assembled the hammer won't lock back. I only Punched out the mainspring housing and put it back in, IDK what I did but it's quite frustrating.... could you please help me out

  • @kirkblackson

Your sear spring has moved. Remove the grip safety, mainspring housing and thumb safety. Install the sear spring so it lays on top of the sear and diconnector. Reinstall the thumb safety, mainspring housing and thumb safety and it will work.

  • Excellent video!

  • Awesome video! i bought a new trigger, mainspring housing, and hammer and was about to have a gunsmith put em in before even attempting. Got me all in easy as hell with this vid man!

  • Great disassembly video, very helpful. Would love to see one of the slide disassembly.

  • great video I have a question; my buddy has a Kimber Team Match that jamms during the feeding of the next round at times. He has replaced the recoil spring and does not know wwhat else to look at he purchased it used. Do you have any recomendations?

  • @rogerazroadrunner

Has he tried different mags? If so may want to look into the extractor as it may need adjustment/fine tuning. Do a google search on how to adjust your extractor. Pretty easy to do and generally helps with feeding problems.

  • @danielp59

The stock mag that Kimber uses are awful. Tripp Research makes a spring and follower kit that is cheaper than buying new mags.

  • @rogerazroadrunner Does he have a custom 2 with the external extractor? if he does thats his problem, those external extractors were a terrible idea. My kimber customer 2 was stove piping all the time because of that so i sent it into kimber and they gave me a new slide with the original extractor for free and ive been problem free ever since.

  • Thank you very much for making this video!

  • Uh, Even better if you buy a series 1 Kimber vs Series II with the fp safety. I understand that you mean to do this as a fast video but failing to fabricate the gun properly during reassembly is a bad idea.

  • @danielp59

    Great video.

I have just fully disassembled my Kimber and your demonstration guide me all the way thought. Thank you very much for taking the time to do so.

  • i like that video

  • thank for video love it

  • Love the tutorial. What watch is that your sporting?

  • @wdoughten

Thanks. I have an old casio G-shock that doesn't die lol. Had it for 7 years and I haven't even had to change the battery. When it dies I'll defiantly be getting an other G-shock just because I have seen the abuse this one has put up with. Thanks for the comment.

  • @danielp59 I just purchased a Tactical 2 Custom, any pointers on breaking in and/or recommended ammo. Also any favorite cleaning products. BTW I have been looking at the G Shock and when I saw yours I knew I had made the correct decision on the buy.

  • @danielp59 I have just recently purchased a Tactical 2 Custom and was wondering about any pointers during break in like preferred ammo and/or cleaning products and oils. Also I had been looking at buying a watch and finally made the G Shock my choice.

  • @wdoughten

Nothing special for the break in. Just keep it oiled per the instructions. I use cheap factor new ammo full metal jackets. If you want to use hallow points to test the feeding I would just wait until after about 250 rounds or so. Kimbers are pretty tight so it may not feed hallow points every time with in the first few hundred rounds. I also would recommend a better mag such as wilson combat, mecgar or kim pro tac mag. These are just my opinions everyone does things different

  • @danielp59 It just so happens that I did purchase a Wilson Combat clip and plan to get others. I also have been told that feeding hollows can be troublesome at first until gun has been fired many times.

  • Hey danielp59, is that an after market extended magwell? Where did you get it?

    Nice vid.

  • @RalfVids

Yeah it's a smith an alexander magwell. You can get them from most online gun stores.

  • stop forget about attempting to instruct.

  • So simple even a Caveman could do it! Honestly, this was the first time I'd attempted to detail strip a 1911 frame. Mine being a 70s Commander without the firing pin safety. I got it apart, cleaned all the components carefully, lightly re-oiled where needed and put it back. The hard part was trying to get the grip safety installed before I had precompressed the leaf spring with the mainspring housing. Once I double checked how you did it it worked perfectly and all went back together 100%!

  • @Slammintone

Great. I'm glad it helped. Your right it is very easy and you saved yourself some money by doing it yourself instead of taking it to a gunsmith or sending it to colt for detailed cleaning. Thanks for the comment.

  • Love that colt!

  • very good job i just stripped my kimber pro carry 2 all the way down for the first time. Man you made that easy and you did it on cam

  • @gatorfred8

Just takes practice to become proficient. Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.

  • nice good video nice ,, thanks
