  • Looks like Valve Stem Seals or Seafoam(lol)

  • Yep! That would piss me off too.

  • its white so is oil burn if it was gas should be black.... my guess is tha the mixture gas,air is unbalanced or you have bad seals

  • i have about the same problem, i have an 87' toyo. pickup and its got a new 22R 4cyl 2BBl carb and all the cyls. have full compression, theres no vaccum leaks, and the fucking thing smokes like a train! does n e 1 know what could be the problem??

  • bad catalitic converter

  • actually no, back then 2 mnths ago i had removed the exhaust b4 the cat to make sure it wasnt the cat or shit left in the muffler, turns out after re-building it, it was #3 valve guides, one was warped slightly and cracked.

  • Number one, get that 20W50 OUT OF THERE! Way too thick to be running in that twin turbo 3.0. Second, check the turbos! Remember, oil runs through them, and it sounds like you have checked and/or replaced everything else, check the turbos and make sure oil is not leaking from the seals!

  • sorry this is irrelevant

    but that's my dream car

  • Well what you should do first is check the compression in each of the cylinders. Check the oil to see if it has a milky tint to it. If it has bad compression and or milky oil you should definitely have the head gasket checked. Also, id it has any slight knocks of any sort you may have a valve problem, bent valve or bad seals. Could be a couple of different problems. good luck

  • leaky turbos.

  • this happend to mine fuck , you need to change the head gasket , its expencive

  • try ametech let me know how ya go son might work or might not the company sounds dogy

  • It's the goddamn valve seals! I haev the same engine, It's very common. Letting it idle for awhile then steping on the gas it puffs! This one is much more worn though. Use thick oil, Or stop smoke or replace your valve seals and lifters while your in there.

  • It cost me 1,300 to get this fixed on my 3000gt standard, automatic 93.They replaced the heads but yet again its a standard version non turbo.

  • Blown head gasket.

  • i has to be your turbos that are finished causing oil to get into your exhuast

  • You need help? Don't look for it on youtube!

  • i dont trust ametech there reviews could of been writen by anyone they are a non proven company they put a cartoon of the stufff working in a engine dogy as on youtube crooks

  • bad catalyst or o2

  • worn piston rings

  • try ametech restore on ebay it is a oil that restores engines real fast been proven it does work i am buying some for my car now accord same problem

  • Where did you get that longblock? I hope it wasn't AMERICAN ENGINE INSTALLATIONS

  • actually, the problem kind of went away by itself. Thanks for the ideas though, except for ormazd58, who sounds like a tool

  • dude thats not oil smoke. thats coolant smoke, i belive thats a head gasket, not cheap to replace and certainly not reccomended to do yourself

  • It might be the turbo

  • 6G72tt<4G63? lol

  • thats what your parents should have done to you

  • lol a 3000GT would eat a Evo.

  • evo is more dependable, all im saying. i see 2 gt's abandoned jus getting to work every morning.

  • @ormazd58 Then why you watching a vid that says 3000gt at the top? School obviously can't help you :) go play with traffic ill be there in a bit with my vr4 hitting 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds or less to run you over kid

  • Its your valve seals (very common problem)Do you notice it more when you leave a street light after sitting for 30 sec or so? then its the seals .Under full throotle then its the turbo s .While you get the seals donr change the lifters to 97 or newer to get rid of the tick noise ..

  • sell that shit and get another one!

easy put a forsale sign on it trust me someone'll buy it...fuck it..ill buy and go get another one

  • it can be your valve seals.

  • does it have a cat thats not bored out?

  • That ticking noise at 2k RPM, may be a result of a faulty oil pump, in turn keeps motor from proper cooling/lubrication, therefore wears out every seal in the motor, head gasket, piston rings, valve guides, everything. God knows the previous owner probably ragged the hell out of it.

  • beats me why people are watching and commenting on this video. I put it up months ago so i could link to it from the 3si forum. The problem pretty much went away after I put in a new y-pipe, although it still lets out a puff of smoke occasionally when I go up or down a hill while it's still warming up.

  • can't tell what fuck is going on with the radio, but i also smoke coming out of the exhaust like this and my friend a mechanic told me it was the turbo (front) one.

  • In and out in and out, i only lasted 1:30 second befor i had enouth wasting my time watching this video. GET TO THE POINT.

  • my vr4 had the same prob after i took off the main cat. It started hesistating, and i had to get plugs and wires changes. Car was still blowing smoke, and was told maybe it was the valve stem seals. Luckily i found a low milage engine for 800$ and getting swapped out right now!!!

...yeah its a common problem for 3/s owners.

  • first of all, turn the stupid radio off so people can hear whats going on!

  • My Montero smokes like a bitch when I turn in on for 2 minutes because I got strait pipes, no cat or resonators lol idk what ur prob is though Sorry bro..

  • Rebuilt turbos on stock cost what like 1000.00 dollars. Another 300 and some change you can get the Mitsubishi sport turbos 13G NEW.

  • whitesh blue smoke diffinitely turbos, its to heavy and last way to long to be worn valve guides and besides if your valve guides seals were that worn or valve guides you'd have more problems then smoke there be a horrid noise from your engine. Black smoke means your running rich. I'd get new turbos or have them rebuilt.

  • I had a similar problem last year. Was wondering why tons of smoke was coming out the exhaust. Dealer said it was one of the turbos. blowing oil If I remembered correctly. Its been over half a year that I havent driven the car yet. Now its at a performance shop getting the right treatmeant that dealership wish they knew. Plain and simple If you got a vr-4 never take it to a dealership to get the job done. take it to a very reputable performance place that know theses cars inside and out.

  • You could be running your car to rich thea mite be to much oil goin thru the motor or yea could be yor head gasket

  • check your turbos, another problem area, especially if you drive hard

  • HEAD GASKET BLOWN!~ Common problem with these.
