As a kid, we used to go down to a viaduct over the train yard at night in my home town. We'd spotlight and shoot pigeons with 22 cal pellet guns for hours at a time, killing them by the 100's. Of course, they roosted by the 1000s under the bridge supports. No matter how many we killed, we never put a dent in the population. In more recent years, the city has been poisoning them. Today, hardly a pigeon exists where there were once thousands. We called it "pigeon popping." Great fun!!!

im sometimes help my uncle pigeon shooting we do it at night and we use a bright spot light to stun them after we stun them we can about five or six out at time

The farmer has recently asked me to cull all the pigeons from his barns.
I started off with the shotgun but then got really stuck into them
using the lamp and .22lr birdshot.

I live in a high rise and we're pestered by these damn things constantly. They crap everywhere, make nests and attract flies etc. It's disgusting. We can't even hang out our washing on the balcony.

As a kid, we used to go down to a viaduct over the train yard at night in my home town. We'd spotlight and shoot pigeons with 22 cal pellet guns for hours at a time, killing them by the 100's. Of course, they roosted by the 1000s under the bridge supports. No matter how many we killed, we never put a dent in the population. In more recent years, the city has been poisoning them. Today, hardly a pigeon exists where there were once thousands. We called it "pigeon popping." Great fun!!!
