You make many assumptions. There could be alot of inhabitable planets. It may be that the natural progression of the evolutionary process is towards intelligence. Beings on older planets than ours could've evolved intelligence long before we left the trees.There may be some fundamental aspects to the space/time continuum that we have not discovered yet that allow for interstellar travel. I agree that the chances are small but they're not so small as to call people lunatics over the idea.

Oh, god... this is such a good documentary for those who are younger, especially to learn about the past of our country... I learned a lot on my own about this, but this is one of my favorite docs about the first part of the space race.
