  • Thats good Ron . You are a great musician.

  • Ron, this is AMAZING! I really admire your musicianship. That's one thing that's always stood out about you. You're definitely one of the best musicians on Youtube, just perfect in every way. And you write some dang good songs too! Love the production this one too. Putting this on my favorites list. :) Janet

  • @onewomanandsomesongs Thank you very Janet, I appreciate you kind words. I hope your 2012 is off to a good start. Maybe the Mayans were just joking, I hope so anyway :o) Talk again soon. -Ron

  • Nice to know I can still be feeling romantic like this in a decade or so Ron. Life affirming. I like the bridge which is reminiscent stylistically of the middle eight you put into Come Down To Earth. You can take the country boy out of the prog but you can't take the prog out of the country boy.

  • @CurtisMateer Hey Pete, thanks for stopping by on this one. Yea, I think we all have things in our music that tend for come back up in different ways, I think that is inevitable in fact. I hope things are good for you these days. I'll be talking to you again soon. -Ron

  • Ron

I've always been a sound person first and later on I might take interest in the lyrics. This song has a great sound. Lots of great instrumentation. Well done.

Oh, and the lyrics are good too! The chorus has a good hook and I can sing along now!

    Dave

  • @dholeton Hey Dave, yes I am a sound first person too. I hope your Holiday was a good one and looking forward to 2012. I'll be talking to you. -Ron

  • thumbs up Ron, very nice

  • @jherr5150 Hello Jason, thanks a lot. It is great to hear from you. Have a great 2012. -Ron

  • I love the sentiment of this song Ron. It's a never ending story. As long as there is vibration in the universe the music will flow through us all.

    Aloha from Hawaii,

    Thomas

  • Hi Ron, back for another listen... today I listen without headphones and now I even notice your fingersnaps.Ok, I need better headphones or a date at the eardoctor´s :-) I really love the instrumentation of the song.

    Awesome song Ron

    Cheyenne

  • You make the strings sound so good and the instruments so easy to play. Another beauty Ron. Great melody and smart lyrics...you bring a lot of intelligence to my circle of friends...excellent tune my friend.

  • always fun to hear your productions (another song!),...top rate, in all ways! pretty chords, uke stylin' , piano and the knock/bourine

    :-) nice nightcap....!

    Cheers, Laurie

  • Wonderful and lovely - everybody has said it already, Ron. This is such a charming song and production - really liked all the subtle percussive things going on, and the uke and the piano - well everything, really. I enjoyed it very much! 8o)

  • Very lovely love song Ron...can't have too many. Love the piano!

    michael

  • That's an amazing piece of work, Ron.

  • Beautiful Production Ron. You got alot of great things going on in this one..I really love the high middle low note ending..sweet!

Nice to see you doing that thing you do.! take care:)

  • Even better with a second listen. Not sure why I didn't notice the tocking percussion, it adds so much.

  • Those arpeggios on the piano are great, I was a little sad when they dropped off in the verse. I actually wish you had added one more slowly played arp at the end when you were accentuating the chords on the piano.

Great lyrics, Ron. I always dig well written songs about songs. ;-)

Your classical side popped out with that bridge, well done.

  • @Oswlek

Hello Justin, I hope you had a good holiday season, it is great to hear from you. Yes, I thought of doing exactly as you suggest for the verses. I have a tendency to overdo the piano parts though, so I left it as it was there. I wish you a great New Year Justin, and I will be looking forward to hearing a lot more of your work this year. -Ron

  • Great song Ron!

The tenor guitar is very seldom since the 1960s. It sounds good especially together with the ukulele.

  • Another outstanding original, Ron! Beautiful! I keep saying that I have to get a Uke one of these days! Love the sound! I truly enjoy your music! <3 Babs

  • @babs4TLove Hey Babs, thanks very much and for all the great songs and guitar playing you give us as well. -Ron

  • nice original, love that uke - is it an ovation?

  • @RobJamesPaynter Hi Rob, yes that is an ovation which is really meant for live performance (it has a plug-in), but It sounds very good as just an acoustic as well. -Ron

  • Excellent! Glad I became a subscriber today. :)

  • @UKISOCIETY Thanks very much and you have a new subscriber as well, great channel you have. -Ron

  • Just L-O-V-E this one! Ron, youre a multitalent..

is that the tenor uke youre holding? I like it, looks good, almost like a mandolin. My uke feels so small to hold, i always struggle with it. This one, i wanna have!!!

  • @breedenburgh Hello Louise, thank you and may I suggest you try a tenor uke because they have bigger bodies than the standard ones and are easier to manage. I also have a baritone uke which is bigger still, but it doesn't have the charm of the smaller ukes. Enjoyed that great jazzy song you and Bob just did, especially your washboard playing :o) Talk again soon. -Ron

  • @rhopen

The baritone uke eh? why isnt that a surprise to me? Is there an instrument that you didnt get your hands on hahahahha.

This tenor uke is on my list of things-i-wanna-have. Ill do a song with it as soon as i get one!!!

    seeya soon on YT RON!louise

  • Such an uplifting song.......well done Ron!

  • @ljped Thanks a lot for stopping by and the good words. -Ron

  • Ron, everytime I find a new upload of yours I know that it will be something very good. This song here is even better than very good. I totally agree Karl, when he says John & Paul couldn't have done it any better. The melody, the tasteful piano in the background, that "Smile"- like percussion... just great. How you lead over to the 3/4 bridge is just genial. And finally... I looove your tenor uke! I must try if my uke still plays :-)

Very nice greetings from your German friend and fan

    Anette

  • @TanteA Hi Anette, thank you for your very kind commet, and I love your uke playing very much so I hope you will make friend with her again :o) We can do a uke collab sometime, ok? :o) Your USA friend, -Ron

  • Good job Ron. Enjoyed it.

  • Awesome Ron :)

  • Such a great song. Really enjoyed this!!

    :-) Monica

  • A Ron-production is always (!) a highlight for me! Great chorus, hookline, and nice instrumentation my friend! You´re a good song-writer - can´t say it enough.

    Frank

  • Awesome Ron a Fav for me Buddy

  • I love the concept behind this one Ron, the instrumentation is great and your vocals are fantastic. This one's a winner and a favourite.

  • ... another great song from you - congratulation!

  • What a great song, Ron! You are so talented, my friend!! A true master of various instruments! I am already looking forward to your next post. Take care...Wolfgang

  • Hey Ron, What a treat! - a wonderful composition, a magical sound. Love the instrumentation (you always have cool instruments I didn't know existed) . The song has a message that's classic yet freshly presented and I found my thoughts getting phase-locked with your uplifting theme. The 3/4 bridge worked amazingly. John & Paul couldn't have done it any better. Just excellent, my friend, gotta hear it again. All the best Karl

  • Real beautiful song my friend;-) I always feel like stopping to post video here...But that's what we musicians do, we sing song for all to hear and enjoy;-)

  • Great song Ron really nice. I love the way you use various instruments to set mood of your songs. On my last track I played a tenor and descant recorder alongside an Ocarina. The sound I got amazed me .

    Best Wishes for 2012

    Paul

  • Nice to hear a new one from you Ron! Really enjoyed the piano add in the chorus on this!! Wrapped the song up nicely:) Great job!! *****

  • This is really lovely, Ron, & I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Clever, individualistic, melodic & a bit 'Beatley', but also instantly identifiable as a rhopen production. What a lovely listen on a sunny winter's afternoon! Full of hope, optimism, and a genuine enjoyment of music :] 5*****

  • exceptional performance ron, have an outstanding 2012.
