@roac7777 (Part 1)-You've violated the first 4 rules you live by in your comment against Pastor Driscoll and religion. Rule #1: do not do to others what you would not want them do to you. Unless you want everyone to make rude comments about your life and belief systems... then you've violated your 1st rule. Rule #2: In all things, strive to cause no harm. How are you not causing harm or defamation in a remark that says he's full of crap? Rule #3: Treat your fellow human beings with love..
@roac7777 (Part 2)... and respect. How are you treating Pastor Driscoll with love and respect in your remarks about him? Rule #4: Forgive wrong doing. Does this mean forgive them... but make sure you get as many people to not like them as possible while you're doing it? Matthew 23 is written about people just like you. "Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do." (Matt. 23:3). Jesus calls them hypocrites.
PLEASE don't waste your life! Live it to the full! Too many religious types tell you to despise this life, setting aside your plans and passions to "set aside treasures in heaven." Or else they threaten you with terrible lies about an eternal torture chamber operated by "the god of love." I mean, that's pretty stupid, right? THIS life is all you have. The "life after death" is a bronze-age myth. "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery! None but ourselves can free our minds!" - Bob Marley
Imaginefree, you are mistaken Christianity teaches that this world we live in is blessed with things that we will see in heaven but also cursed with things we should disregard. Christianity has taught me to live life to the full becuase it taught me about things on earth that will be seen also in heaven, love being the most important. I have a greater respect for hanging out with friends and family and having fun and just enjoying life with a greater hatred for things that sadden me like death
"Take me to where joy lives because I need rest. Bitterness and hopelessness in these times of trial and grief cannot have my soul becuase someone died for it long ago. But by the cross won't you take me and there I will find my home!"
It has also taught me that having fun in life is more deeper than just being rich and having alot of things added to my name. I enjoy things that help others, i enjoy relationships i have with others, any christian talk in relation to dieing to yourself when you accept Christ is the idea of dieing to things that lack any sort of love, dieing instead to selfishness, greed, envy... should make life alot more enjoyable doesn't it... becuase I know that my tresure is in heaven and not of this Earth
means that my greatest hope is in heaven so therefore any sort of thing on this Earth that will make me sad or anxious like not haveing alot of money or not being in a sexual relationship even things like seeing a friend die, i understand that my tresure is ultimatly not found in here on Earth and therefore life can be led with passion and to the full
Yes, the Bible tells you to despise this life, of course! Uhhh, can you point that verse out to me? I can't seem to find it.
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer was hung for planning an assassination on Adolf Hitler.
- Bishop Romero was martyred on San Salvador for exposing the corrupt government [at the time] that was abusing their citizens' rights.
Ya, those guys definitely died for the sake of others because they "despised this life", right? Go read a book. And I don't mean a Bob Marley lyric pamphlet.
i saw him speaking with that shirt a couple of weeks ago but with a jacket on top which was half zipped down and thought it was an avenged sevenfold shirt.

Driscoll is a fraud and so is religion. He goes home every night saying to himself, Ive made loads of money and Ive got away with it again.
Give Driscoll an enema, once you have cleared all the excrement away, you could fit his body into a matchbox

lol your quoting Bob Marley for wisdom?
Why don't you check out Jesus and see his quotes.
Who said following Jesus means setting aside plans and passions?
mpgibson88 2 years ago
no, it's just that following jesus means you have to set asside reality and accept fairy tales instead. :-).
Unproven myths.

I will end with this qoute

@littleman85882 Frankly, I found our discourse a bit hard to follow.
I sure don't agree with your reasoning.
You say that having your treasure in heaven
allows you to live this life with passion and to the full,
because the next life is more important than this one.
That seems quite backwards.
We are passionate about the things that are IMPORTANT,
not about temporary "meanwhile" things.
If this life is relatively unimportant, whence the passion and fullness?
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
totally agree mate.

@BCrav1024 "Yes, the Bible tells you to despise this life"
You seem to be using your scripture-reading skills on my comment,
causing you to change both the words and the meaning.
Have another look and see if you can read what I actually wrote,
rather than your assumptions about what I might have written.
