I dislocated my knee recently doing a simple lunge in class, the same move I've done dozens upon dozens of times in every class and I'm nowhere near as big as this girl is. it was a freak accident. People get hurt regardless of their health and size etc. This isn't all that funny. calling people a "bitch" because they're fat and got hurt is ridiculous.

who ever let this girl on stage to execute the leap is partly responsible... clearly she wasn't ready and doesn't know how to hold her center to sustain a good landing.. evidence here as to why students should take their time studying how to perform complex vocabulary before being let on to a stage with the possibility of injuring themselves!
It does not bother me that she is a plus size dancer or that she fell. What bothers me is that she hurt her self executing (or trying to execute) a switch leap. Even though the clip was only 19 seconds long, I could tell that this dancer was not ready to do that skill. There was plenty wrong going on before she fell. Hope she is better
In a way it looks like the falling and the crying were actually parts of the performance, with the curtain closing on her. Like parts of a very emotional and intriguing ending to the performance.
But who ever let her get up and do that in public? I'd say there were liability issues here at the very least. Liability hand in hand with the girl's highly egocentric desire to go onstage and perform in that physical state, which is dangerous and someone should have quietly explained to her that it was not a wise thing for her to do. This craziness of telling people: "You can fulfil your dream" is very much a sign of the times we live in. Why would you want to go onstage looking like that?

I did the same in ballet rehearsals when I was younger, and it is horrible. The only thing I could think when I was on the floor holding me knee was that I mustn't throw up in the studio. It does not bother me that she is a plus size dancer or that she fell. What bothers me is that she hurt her self executing (or trying to execute) a switch leap. Even though the clip was only 19 seconds long, I could tell that this dancer was not ready to do that skill. There was plenty wrong going on before she fell. Hope she is better

In a way it looks like the falling and the crying were actually parts of the performance, with the curtain closing on her. Like parts of a very emotional and intriguing ending to the performance.

But who ever let her get up and do that in public? I'd say there were liability issues here at the very least. Liability hand in hand with the girl's highly egocentric desire to go onstage and perform in that physical state, which is dangerous and someone should have quietly explained to her that it was not a wise thing for her to do. This craziness of telling people: "You can fulfil your dream" is very much a sign of the times we live in. Why would you want to go onstage looking like that?

@Buondelmonte123 I don't see how her weight is "dangerous" to herself. Just because she's bigger doesn't mean she can't dance. If she wants to dance, then let her dance.

@960ronbon4ever the strain on her heart for one thing. She's overweight, and she's throwing herself at the choreography, not dancing it. Then she has an accident onstage, which causes even more heart strain. I stand by my original comments.

@Buondelmonte123 I'm in agreement with 960ronbon. Just because she is bigger doesn't mean she can't dance or that she is going to get health problems. I have a friend who danced for 10 YEARS and she was overweight and she is healthier than a thin person. And she slipped! It wasn't her weight! It was her footwear. She was wearing flip flops for God's sake. You obviously don't know that there is TONS of people who are overweight and are one of the best dancers ever.

@CameraGirl4AGdolls It depends what you mean by dancing. I honestly don't know how anyone can dance for 10 years correctly and not have the weight drop off. Yours is not a valid argument. The girl on this video is not dancing, she's 'cavorting.' Studios across the world are full of girls like this, their ego outstrips their talent every time. Who dances in flip-flops? Bad workmen always blame their tools.

Can people please stop trying being politically correct and start being honest! It's not funny that she hurt herself but it's rediculous she even tried ballet with all these kilos. There is a reason ballarinas are thin. I wouldn't be surprised if she broke something...

From where she grabbed, looked like she tore a ligament in the back of the knee. Could be horrible if it was MCL, those things are horrid to recover from. On the other hand, she is unhealthily fat, dunno if justified.

i've fallen like that due to a buckled knee and it effin hurts like a sumbitch. yes i'm a red neck, get over it. she was probably on crutches for at least 2-3 weeks after that....it suuuucks

This so is not funny. I think she might have torn one of her ligaments in her knee cos it twists when she lands.
I did the same in ballet rehearsals when I was younger, and it is horrible. The only thing I could think when I was on the floor holding me knee was that I mustn't throw up in the studio. It made me feel so sick. I feel sorry for her. NO ONE should be teased for their constitution. Thin dancers are NOT necessarily better dancers. I hope she is alright today.

i feel so bad for her, being on stage takes a lot of courage. People calling her fat is bullying. its mean and it does nothing but makes someone feel like shit and that is how eating disorders start...so think wisely about what you say it effects a person more than you realize
