@Ryacuski I have been keeping an eye out at the local salvage yards for R/T rims. Actually, if I found a nice 4 door R/T Dakota, I might concider buying it.
Nice video bro. I enjoyed watching it. I like the end lol. Gettin in a pool after a long day of sweaty work is just too awesome. Btw how do u like the dupli color stuff? Good product?
1 freezey pops are damn good mostly the orange ones 2 nice truck man and the thing with the hood sweet i hate when people buy hoods with scoops and the scoop is fake i.e pepboys and just unneeded 3 sweet garage thats ASE quality
@KeatonDee The reason I used a brush is because of convenience. When applied correctly, there are barely any visible brush strokes. Besides, it was kind of windy and when I'm rolling down the road, no one can tell the difference.
@mpnmichael No. The reason you only see one hand in the video is because I'm actually holding up the truck with the other one. (Stepped on my cape twice, too.)
@imacarnut by the way i have a 03 dakota too and looking to get tires, how do you like the Firestone Destination At's? Its a toss up between those and General Grabber AT2's.
@Deeez7127: If you recall, several years ago Firestone supplied a bad batch of tires to Ford. They had a MASSIVE recall and it cost them millions of dollars for replacement, millions in fututre sales, and a brused reputation. To make up for that, Firestone has been putting extra quality into their tires. This is my second set of 4. (By the way, I am running the stock size 245's in the front, but I'm running 265's in the rear. I think it stands better with the 265's.)
I picked up this can of Dupli-Color Caliper Paint at NAPA. The sponge brushes can be found just about anywhere for cheap.
REMEMBER.... The paint job will only be as good as the surface prep. I wire-wheeled these calipers, then finished the prep with the wire brush and caliper cleaner spray.
so do you perfer the liquid in a can rather than the spraycan? ur look good so does it work better? how did you prep? any sanding? bc im gonna be doing mine on my dodge ram, any advice would help, thnx
Last thing I did on my car was put in my CAI... and somehow it managed to aggravate me haha. If I can't put a CAI on with ease I doubt I'll do this successfully. How much would you guess it would be in the shop? And thanks, if you could get that model # for me that'd be great. If not, don't worry about it :).
i took it off and spray painted it with high heat temp paint did about 5 or 6 coats with red i say taking it off and dont it is better but that is pretty good to.
I had replaced the front brake pads within the last year, so I chose not to take the front calipers off. I made sure I spent a lot of time on the wire brushing to get a good paint surface. I did take the rears off, but I already had the can of brush-on caliper paint, So I didn't buy a spray can. Still turned out well, though.
I think your socks are killing your plants! Nice Dakota! Ive got 03 Dak.QC SLT Brt.wht. / silver.

Above-ground pool. Yup, you're a redneck. See you at the corner store when I'm buying my Red Man.

Some 17" R/T rims would really show those calipers off. They make R/T replica rims in 20" as well.

Would you recommend painting it with a brush or tape it all up and use spray paint?

I enjoyed your video. You're good at demonstrating things. Even with a camera in one hand and a melted icy pop in you mouth.

what does rubberized undercoat do?
MSH3423 1 year ago
@MSH3423 It would make it more smooth giving it an even paint job
hitman199528 1 year ago
@MSH3423 Slows the inevitable rust process and reduces road sound. And it looks good.

Dupli-Color Caliper Paint. I bought the small can and it was more than enough to put several coats onto 3 vehicles, so far.

I can't remember if I got it at NAPA or AutoZone. I am a frequent flyer at several auto parts stores. Picked up the sponge brushes at Wal-Mart.

yeah man! brakes look great as well as the truck. can this be done at a performance shop?
P.S. nice intake! i have a K&N also.. which type is that? i've never seen one so wide
AllmanBros424 2 years ago
@AllmanBros424 :
Don't take it to a performance shop if you can do it yourself. I'll look for a model number on the filter for you. It came included with the kit.
