I'll tell you why. What happened to Cuba should not have happened. I left Cuba at age 13 in 1962 without my parents through the Pedro Pan program. We are true Exiles. We are like the prophet Daniel of the Old Testament, and like Daniel we will return to build our New Jerusalem. Viva Cuba Libre!
I am not sure why, as a Cuba-born immigrant, having made my life in the United States since I was 7 years old--we all share a common bond. Our attachment to our country--a little island called Cuba. We all yearn to return, to see, to experience. It is in our cell memory, not just ingrained by our parents. Maybe, one day, hopefully in my lifetime--our country will be free.
@iraperrot Im here since I was 23 years old. I born in 1950. I did grew up 18 years with Castro's dictatorship. Im living in this wonderful country the age when Jesus was crucified after I left my Land in 1978. I hope too that one day our country will be free. Meanwhile I just pray in the name of Olofin , Obbatala & Orunmila. IBORU, IBOLLA IBOSHESHE.
These are verses by Cuban Apostle Jose Marti,as you can imagine it is very difficult and hard to translate poetry, but very roughly some of the stanzas could read as follows: I am a sincere man from where palm trees grow and before dying I want to express the verses of my soul. I grow a white rose In June as well as in January for the sincere friend with whom I shake hands, and for the cruel person who tears out the heart that makes me live I do not grow thorns or cacti I grow the white rose.

When I die I want
Without fatherland but without a master
to have on my tomb
a bunch of roses and a flag!!!
Jose Marti (My "translation")
Sorry I mixed up the first verses I translated in my previous comment.
They are also by Jose Marti but not on this sound track.
