Shadow never deserved his own game. Shadow deserved to stay dead at the end of Sonic Adventure 2. Not come back and be made into one of the most annoyingly gay Sonic characters in the series' history.

I don't entirely agree with you on Shadow, he's pretty cool, although there are certain times where I might perfer he not be. But, that's my opinion.

Which you're entitled to. No prob. My opinion on Shadow, however, is that when he was first introduced in Sonic Adventure 2, he was an interesting character. We didn't know much about him, there had been a lot of build-up to him and what his role in the story would be, and it created an interesting dynamic with an unusally dark backstory. But his return seemed to be a desperate attempt to keep some edge and angst in the series.

Good point, that amnesia thing got real old to fast, and pretty much was only good in the Adventure series, after that it's like one of those running gags that you get tired of real easily.

The adventure series was great in telling story and establishing character. The adventure fields from SA were a neat little diversion to break up the action stages. The adventure series also gave us a great taste of what fast in 3D actually was. The adventure series was great while it was around. I hope one day there will be a Sonic Adventure 3.

@sonicfan341 In the "official" story, Dr. Robotnik reveals in the end of Shadow the Hedgehog that he sent a robot after him to save him. It's revealed at some point during the final boss battle. So if he had never come back, he'd be dead. He did come back though, so he never died. The reason they didn't get rid of him isn't "cashcowism," that's why the Sonic series is still around. Shadow's around because they need a huge ass cast to add to a series that could do well without most of them.

I know that in Sonic Heroes, he appears when Sonic, Tails, Amy and Rouge all previously witnessed his death, and they don't question it. And only right until the end does Shadow (and the player) know he is a clone... but not the other characters, which mean they must just be assuming he magically came back to live. Which is a major plot hole.

And since Shadow the Hedgehog has several plots, it just clusters the rest of his life story even more so. =/
