So, the slower powerful version of the electric bolt thing.. Vapor thrust? The slow 3 hit one, there's an aerial version to it? Is that new, cause I have GGX2 #Reload, and I've never seen that get pulled off.. :O
I'm really disappointed in crowd Guilty Gear has formed. I love this game but I can't stand its fans. For some reason people cry "cheap" when Ky wins a fight, but when he loses(which is at least 80% of the time) the player just wasn't skilled.
Seriously, who takes a Stun Edge in the face from ACROSS the screen? Someone please explain to me, is the reason Ky is so "cheap" because everyone who plays this game sucks at it? I always thought these legendary Japanese players were just SOOO elite, but if STUN EDGE of all things is a problem for them, then I might be a freaken god at Guilty Gear just for having basic dodging abilities.
Part of the reason why he was so "cheap" in Guilty Gear Slash is because his Slash Stun Edge is really good. It always gave him on advantage on block, and in the corner spamming Stun Edge with attacks repeated is really hard for some characters to get out of. If they do get out Ky still has advantage because they wasted tension/lost life/guard bar while he just gained tension. His Stun Edges are also good from far range, particularily his air ones and ground Charge Stun Edge.
Robo Ky had it bad because for every Stun Edge he blocked, he gained 10 degrees of heat, 30 from Charged Stun Edge, and 20 Forward Heavy Slash. He explodes at 100 degrees, and starts at 30. He has a hard time getting out, but IF he gets away from the trap he MUST run away just to blow off steam or he simply explodes, and the pattern repeats.
Not to mention Ky is brain-dead easy to play in Slash and any noob can pick up the game, learn how to Stun Edge trap, and do a few bad combos.
I guess I just rule at this game or something. I never thought I was that good, but I have absolutely no problem getting past Stun Edge, which seems to be a problem for everyone.
On another note, every character in this game is "brain-dead easy to play". The difference is, while other characters have several moves that easily link into a combo, Ky only has Greed Sever, which is easy to block, or even counter, and his throw, which is his only real strong point. Basically, which is more broken, a character that's "easy" to use in a game that's easy to play, or a character that in the end has stronger attacks?
If you're not playing Guilty Gear Slash, Stun Edge trap doesn't exist (which it seems you're not even aware of). Because I don't think you have an idea of what's really happening in the match.
Slash Ky is extremely simple to play. Get a knockdown, pressure, get another knockdown, repeat. And Slash Ky is not just easy to use, he has more effective attacks than the rest of the cast.
You might want to read everything I said again. I knew what the Stun Edge trap was, I've seen it in play and I also see ways to get out of it. Any skilled played seems to be able to escape it. I've played as Eddie, it's not that hard, and I didn't say Greed Sever is the only move that Ky has to use IN a combo.
You also seemed to miss my sarcasm on the whole "I rule" thing. And if Ky was so godly easy and powerful, why does he lose so much in Slash? H.H was kicking butt in 3v3 tourney, but then he ends up losing, horribly I might add, to Bridget, a character most people say is "unplayable". Maybe you should actually look at how the character is played in fights, rather than just going by what everyone else says.
Not your buddy, don't even know you, how am I supposed to pick up your sarcasm easily. Messages have ambigious meanings, you know.
You never once indicated that you knew what Stun Edge trap was, or that you were even referring to Stun Edge anywhere else but from the other side of the screen. What else am I supposed to assume but that you don't know what it is?
Also want to mention that Stun Edge trap is still good even though there are ways around it.
Eddie is hard to play. I can play the guy too, but when it comes down to really playing well with Eddie, it's damn hard and I would not be able to pull it off.
I never said Ky was godly and powerful. I've basically said he has great normals, Stun Edge trap, and is not hard to play to be effective. If I've misconstrued my words to make you think I thought Ky was cheap then I apologize. He's simply the best character, although certainly not undefeatable.
Well, I still don't agree with you on that, but I guess we can agree to disagree. I'm sick of people saying Ky is cheap and I tend to bite someone's head off if they say it anymore, which I thought you were.
@kokubunji well, since the 3 years that has passed i have learned how to play him correctly and whatnot. However you did not answer the question and decided to insult me 3 years after the orginal post. well played sir.
But yeah, anyway, IMO Zato's biggest difficult is trying to coordinate him and his shadow (by using a lot of negative edging), so the shadow attacks only when necessary, without wasting bar in unwanted attacks. All the people who go "MAWAREEEEE" and abusing Invite to Hell are failures because that's a too straightforward and predictable pattern. I know it because I tried Zato some time ago (didn't continue coz his style doesn't suit me).
Lawl, i ma ky player and i agree with you, ky's stun edge trap was a little on the cheap side but he wasent invincible. as a matter of fact i had alot of troble fighting potemkin cause of his auto guard.... but thats why i play X2 ky is fun and somewhat hard to learn in that game.
you talking about the times he took a long time to get up? it's one of robo-ky's moves. he can stay on the ground for another second or two, and possible mess up the opponent's timing.
Great matches, but not at all impressed with the Ky players =\ I play both Robo Ky and Ky and it's just like, clearly the Robo Ky player were better. Great matches none the less.
whens the next guilty gear coming out? i wanna get n2 the series this looks ballin

@topbluffa1 Not exactly. Daisuke Ishiwatari (GG) has very different design ideas, compared to Mori Toshimichi.
Both games are completely different.

Also you don't rule at this game for a few reasons:
1. You're watching old Slash videos.
2. You don't even know what Stun Edge trap was.
3. You think characters like Eddie is brain-dead easy to play.
4. A noob like me knows more than you.
5. You think Greed Sever is the only thing Ky can use in a combo.
