The country singer Gentry of Montgomery/Gentry shot a bear in a cage with a bow, and tried to say he hunted it down in the wild after he had it stuffed for his frigging living room so he could brag to his children what a great hunter he was, look at their careers now....in the toilet. Animal rights are a popular and right thing to promote now. Animals need our protection.
@HumblePie76 the movie was not a fictitious movie - it was a docudrama. Not the same as the church people saying harry potter books use REAL MAGIC SPELLS. LOL!!!
I doubt that any legitimate organization would have the word "Cult" in their name. Even then the word cult was associated with the "Manson Family" as well as "The Moonies" and the "Hare Krishnas". It would have been more believable if the organization was called "The American Gun Club". I'm an animal rights wacko (and proud of it) and I thought this trailer was more fake than professional wrestling.
Boy do I remember this film. In High School we showed in in it's entirety after a condensed version was shown in Junior year English. They had a spokesperson from AZ Game And Fish Dept. come in and explain it. Of course it struck a nerve with us kids at the time, but the truth is the only animals shot were diseased. Now we have more Buffalo that we can handle due to careful management. Also, the Buffalo shot in the film were shipped to CA loaded on barges for the film shoot on Catelina Island.
The buffalo were actually shipped to Catalina Island for another movie made around 1920 or so and when that film was done, the producer left the animals there to spare the expense of shipping them back to the mainland. The Wrigley's, of gum fame, bought the herd and property and turned it into a tourist attraction with stables, etc. By time this movie came about, the herd had grown to a considerable size and it made a great substitute for the Arizona herd.

Well the shooting scenes were NOT fake and that's disturbing. Anyone who enjoys murdering animals for fun alone is a sick fuck! Great movie.

Actually, I thought the "offical" did some mighty bad acting. Either that, or they made him look like a Doofus on purpose.
I guess that was the whole point of this ad--to make the adults look like morons and the teens look like caring, compassionate individuals.

Well it's nice to know the the Fish and "Game" parts of the government come into schools to brainwash kids.
If you think only diseased animals are shot, you need to read the news.

Not according to other sources. You took the hook, line and sinker.

I must correct a comment I posted. The Buffalo were not shipped to Catalina. This was stock footage used in the film.
Sagan, we are talking about the late 60's and very early 70's. Game management brought this endangered species back to life again.
Also, this "Trailer" isn't a trailer, but a PSA sponsored by anti-gun activists.
I've never heard of a "Gun Cult Association".
Go back to "Lost In Space".
