  • Your still shots are amazing! Love the song too!

  • Almost half a million views! Nick, I reckon you're the first poi celebrity.

  • @BabiiuaGalaao582 Yeah sure, your writing skills feel lonely too right?

  • watch me spin go to my videos !

  • Who knows the name of this music?

  • @HASHYE Tarun Nayar

  • Beautiful :D

  • THANKS AGAIN 4 YOUR INSPIRATION!!!

  • too slow.

  • Imagine them with nunchucks Dx

  • love the vid. I want to learn to use poi, and this really inspired me. Thanks!

  • Hey, I'm one of the 'E-Tards'. Granted I end up sober @ shows most of the time. I have been spinning off and on for about a decade now. I'm getting back into doing lightshows for people, and now this vid has me quite interested in poi. Is this like, a dance form in another culture that is quite popular? Can I find classes if I'm lucky?

  • ..inspiring video. thanx.

  • @starrpoet Im not a tosser nor a poser . I dont like posting videos of myself cos theres no need.

  • @princessserenityo7 - Ive got an opinion if you dont like it get Mature.

  • whats this song called? :)

  • i use to do poi a lot and i was soooooo amazing.....i would definitely recommend it to anyone, and its not hard to learn

  • Poi Is SOO fun :) Anybody watching this video thinks im wrong go to a rave and watch people glowstick then but a pair and learn cool mind minipulations with glowsticks then ull start learning cool moves and pick up flowlights then fire poi because its the best job in the world you wont stop ha Great hobby check out my fire poi video :)

  • This is so sick! I'm starting to learn how to spin poi and it's amazing how much fun it is, even with the only 2 or 3 moves that I know. Watching people do this is pure magic, especially with light-up or fire poi!

  • @bonkersbananas2010 Good luck man!!! Hows it going so far! I spent 50- in lessons ( i got 3 out of it) and it was SO helpful!!!

  • beautiful, thank you!

  • BUENISIMO! :)

  • Amazingg :) x

  • The still photos in this are beautiful!

  • I would not want to get into a fight with a poi spinner with a sword, anyone with a sword for that matter but especially a poi spinner. Hell, even with a decent stick they could beat me unconscious.

  • Now lets do that shit in high-speed and be the best fighter ever :D

  • wow just wow.. the clip of one of the guys holding the girl with the fire poi.. that is not only wicked but the shot is like...a photography masterpiece

  • you're video is cool and the guy spinning is amazing.

  • What kind of lights are those???

  • @MyMindsDaze depends, they're big on flowtoys, im pretty sure its flowlights though.

  • @Bakchicha Love the tunes too, would love to know who it is.

  • Absolutely awesome! & the choice of music is perfect!

  • yeah it would be sick, Poi just needs to become more popular :]

  • @DjEverithyng

lol i've tried poi(s) before, and well aren't they basically like glowsticks (that rave dance)?

  • @Nongamblerpokerfan they're round and usually heavier, they also change colors. poi is mainly used with fire though.

  • @xharmonyx5268

o_O i didnt know they were used with fire.

but to change colors don't you need to put a different color of ....well glowstick in the poi?

  • @Nongamblerpokerfan there are two different types used here. one being fire poi. the other LED poi. fire poi doesn't change colors. LED poi are balls of LED light that change colors. go to flowtoys.com and you'll see what i mean.

  • @Nongamblerpokerfan you can get poi that shanges colour very quickly so you can only see it change when you spin it

  • Who is the girl o.O?

  • they should make a really good poi/glowstringing video game for the Wii. but it needs to be perfect

  • @DjEverithyng That would actually be kind of cool to have a poi game on the wii, Though they'd need to make special controllers, but I think that would be pretty sick if through the sensors it could really show you different moves. I do not think there would be enough of a demand for something like that to be developed though.

  • @Tarasepp

The wii/poi project is underway. Call it poii.

    And it's "musical"

    search poii version 1.0

  • hi i love this poi but i can do it too! look at mine that is on youtube

it is called ark bar sheila and ark bar sheila 2 this is when i was 8 now im much better and i do many shows its so fun!

  • COME TO CANCUN!!

  • sooo hypnotizing

  • so sings this song

  • just flow.. yes.. i like this stile.. just flow with music.. just feel it....mmmm..

    it's very fun,it's a good exercise

  • OMG!!! woooow.. beautiful... :)

  • nice video, can you tell me which pois you has used at the beginning?

  • some of the pics(particularly 0:50 ) reminds me of an alex grey painting

  • Thank you!

  • thank you wow

  • I really want to spin like you! :) You're great inspiration for me :) and I thank you for all what you do...

  • go for it and try :D

  • oh really, here, ill give you a set of poi and laugh as you keep hitting yourself XD

  • I hope you try it with fire and burn yourself then :)

  • this is seriously cool! how can i learn to poi?

  • you can learn by going to classes or self taught, its harder self taught, i should know XD

  • I would recommend visiting the playpoi website. They have info and schedules for classes for all levels of poi spinners. ^^

  • Comment removed

  • check out the home of poi website. homeofpoi(dot)com there are also dvds. I have the fire groove dvd.

  • awesome! tank yoos!!

  • cool!

  • after all these years of poi developement and understanding I still think this video has touched me most of all. transend the usual and enjoy the ride into poi heaven. - Saint

  • i guess i need a longer rope for my nunchaku's to do this right ?

  • Or investing in poi would be wise

  • at 258 is that an anti spin in spin flower?

  • which is your pic? at what time

  • amazingly beautiful and inspiring!

  • love the pictures in here. so beautiful

  • Beautiful still photography in this.

  • i wonder how an anti-spin flower and a forwards flower look when done together like one hand anti the other forward

  • yeah he is pretty good. not my favorite lol. i have 2 faves if thats possible. cause the styles crash. guinto look him up and findinddenno. findingdenno is more my style of a stringer but with way more experience lol and guinto is like fraggle but like imo has a better style but yeah each stringer is equally as good i would say

  • hahah i know a bit idk how many i dont feel like counting lol but yeah nik is crazy good he is a big inspiration of my spinning. yeah there are diff kinds of glowstringers poi bound, wrap bound, and string manipulations and many many more. i try to have a balance between poi and glowsticking cause both are beautiful

  • please someone....tel me the name of the song and the artist...i'd listen to this track 24/7.. please please please

  • so watch the video over and over

  • the artist is Tarun Nayar i dont know the track though sry.

  • Comment removed

  • So will, anyone politely tell me whats the difference in Poi, and Glowstringing?

  • do you know what a spiral is??? thats a wrap poi uses it but thats like the only on ive really seen utilized in poi. but wraps is where in glowsticking the string would hit your arm leg neck ect slightly wrap around it 3/4 of the way then un wrap changing direction

    :)

  • yes. of course lol. but glowstringing most times has more wraps then poi does

  • somone spent some cash on there hifi.

  • It would definatly make it alot easier to learn thats for sure.

  • AMAZING :D

  • Great Video! I'm loving it! Great Performance!

We did one too. We would like to get some comments on it.

Have a look for "Savatio Draconis".

    thanks

    prkmartin

  • I wish I had a poi

  • Do it by yourself and star to spin Ayime! U just need a socks pair. :D

  • Beautiful - got some fantastic ideas from this :)

  • This is so amazing!! I was trying to put a simple poi routine together for my daughter's talent show and found this!!! Wow...

  • yeah i have multi headed poi, was just explaining to someone else but the reply thing never seems to work preperly for me

  • Tarun Nayar - Water

  • sweet pics u got there... i love watching u spin man, come check out my videos...

  • 3:12 is a fire fan i think, not poi

  • man 3:12 is the best...how fast did u hav to move to actually manage that..with all the fire around..pretty impressive

  • i suspuect photoshoping

or else really good exposure timing with the 2nd person coming in and out of the picture.....

  • it was properly done with shutter speed

  • it looks like a multi head poi, imagine a normal poi with more than one fire heads seperated by chain etc.

i could be wrong about that, but its definately possible without photoshop ;P

  • there are multi headed poi, you can get two or three wicked chains, then just light them and use a long exposure shot to get those kool patterns:)

  • The music goes excellent with this video but I couldn't find the song. Are you sure it's Tarun Nayar they don't or at least what I found sound like this...;) Great video by the way.

  • awesome & to be experienced

  • 2:45 frame looks like a smiley face, that being said everything else was just beautiful.

  • it does too! thats awesome

  • To understand what true Poi is, check out Maori videos on you tube. This is beautiful don't get me wrong, but there is nothing like the original.

  • so can someone explain the difference between glowstringing and poi besides poi can have fire and stringing has like wraps and stuff

  • the difference between glow and fire is that glow is the love of life

fire is to respect the flame and what it can do and it will give u the knowledge

to spin with it to love love fire is to love your self fire is life and so much more much much more at leased thats what i feel

  • you totally lost me. :0

  • if u respect something

it will respect and trust u

  • I just love the Photography.

  • Where do u buy your Poi?

  • poipoi :dot: info :slash: shop :)

  • kool

  • Fantastic! Awesome! Incredible! I can't get enough of this video.

I had a friend who used to poi and it was mesmerizing.

  • Thanks for your help. The song is called Water by Tarun Nayar

  • Hey what's the artist and title of this song?

  • Tarun Nayar is the artist's name.

  • damn when i watched this vid i was at peace from the way the song is and how the pics look!!!!! @^_^@

  • Hi Meenik! You know... This was the video that made me want to learn how to poi. I thought I'd just be nothing more than a staffist but now (psst, don't tell) I prefer poi. ;) It's evident how much passion you have for the fire arts... nothing ever stops you. That is admirable in itself. Sending you warm wishes from the states (can't wait for you to come tour the US again)!

    Cheers,

    Orchidmoon

  • Wow.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful, sensuous...fantastico!

  • Wow awesome..!

  • PERFECT!!! CONGRATULETIONS!!!

  • a real magick hehehe

  • eh, I wish they would have shown more fire on the video.

  • jedi wann bs

  • wata hell

  • those flowers are epic!

  • where can i learn to do this in new york?

  • If you want to learn find someone who knows how to do it. It doesn't take long to learn how to do a 1 beat, but it gets harder from there.

  • nice

  • Nice music.

  • awesome pix btw how do you take a perfect picture like that?

  • probably leaves the lens open longer for the lights to make the pattern, and hes probly very good at making patterns lol

  • that he is good at.

  • i think its just a camera set to a very low shutter speed. Because a faster shutter speed only captures that one moment where as this is like catching a movement so a slower shutter speed.

  • yh cuz u cant do tht wiv fire

  • you can make pics like that with fire if the shutter speed is slow enough, just look for pics of it on google

  • i know thts wat i sed

  • I really like the fire one.

  • oh,,fantastic bro....

  • girls that spin poi = sexy.

    end statement.

  • that was sooo amazing! i am an aspiring spinner and i am in love with you all!

  • great!

  • thx

  • ANIMAL... muito lindo mesmo o trabalho de vocês... um abraço do Brazil!

    Gui

  • The bit thats lotsa people eep commenting on at 3:11, She is standing there, and the guy is spinning...I think it's Nick.. not sure though. Great vid!! I've watched heaps of your tutorials and have learnt soo much!, I've only been twirling for about 4months now, on and off, and can already do the 5 beat weave backwards with all the varieaitions i could think of!, Ty soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing-i have had poi for about 2 years and this vid makes me look like a beginner

  • i luv the song whats it called?

  • The song is called Water by Tarun Nayar

  • 03:06 omggggg look at this

  • God im absolutly in love with the beautiy of this video... Outstanding... I cant wait till my new poi comes in the mail =D

  • Nice ....Respect....

  • I like the glowing, either gloves or loops.. they're great. :) Did ya make them?

  • COOL !

  • Beginner's tips:

    1. Slow speed on new moves -- it's way too easy to take it too fast and hurt yourself!

    2. You'll either find weaves more natural than butterflies, or the other way round. Don't sweat.

    3. Try harder new moves: with both hands to get the idea of what's meant to happen (it won't, and you'll hit yourself, but do it); then just single hands. Move the empty hand just as if you were holding hte other poi. That way you'll get used to the whole move without tangles.

  • they must use a really slow shutter speed on the photos, cause those are friggin crazt

  • no they didn´t.. just take an ordinary camera and firepoi or firestix or another firestuf and take some photos.. and don´t stare stupidly

  • wow that was really cool :D i really liked this video

  • Beautiful video.

  • Quite amazing. I'm just starting myself. I have a few videos of me and my friend Raven spinning. Any tips for a beginner?

  • beautiful music whats the song called?

  • it's in the credits. "Water" by Tarun. Who would have thought fire and water could work. ;-)

  • on 2:44 it looks like a smiley face when you pause and look well! lol

  • WOA, with flags ahhaa i got sum of those flags i used for a church lol never tryed with techno XD jujju i'll try :D

  • i would really love to learn this. it was just introduced to me
