Honestly, I don't remember Pendulum or Chase & Status making any good tunes back in the day. Trail of Sevens was average, and was released when Dn'B was going into the "Jump-up" era - basic tunes with big obvious drops made for easy DJing. Kinda like what dubstep has become these days. As for Fresh (BCUK RIP) or Zinc making dubstep and aiming to sell records? I've no problem with it, they've made enough classic tunes over the past 16 years or so to deserve success commercially.

Yeah I agree, Dub uses the synths discovered in the late dnb scene but it's given them a whole new lease of life.

Sorry, but I gotta disagree...Im from the same era, but in my eyes D&B got stale, Dubstep came around,fresh & new,a great alternative to fill the void.....but thats just my personal view, to each his own

@yoti6666 because all the DnB producers are forgetting their roots and defecting to dubstep. Chase & Status, Brookes Brothers, Pendulum (although they always had a few breakbeaty/dubsteppy tracks on their album). Fair play to High Contrast & Modified Motion, still rolling out bangers :-D
