It's one of the prettiest fiddle tunes i ever heard too-i play it all the time on my ham. dulcimer, and you played it well! ty for posting this-liked hearing your 'version' of it-do you notice everyone has their own intpretation of it?-yours is real sweet/pretty/sad-ty
Hey Tauvy, That's awesome. I guess I must have gotten my story mixed up. At least I got the right name. I never got a chance to meet Benny, but I did get to jam with Jerry at the Grand Master's a couple of years ago. It was a great time!
Awesome, Jerry is my dad! :) Glad you had a good time. I also never got a chance to meet him, as he passed about 3 months after I was born - but the legacy is immortal and it's that part of my heritage that drives the music in me today.
Just starting to work on this tune. On the B part, seventh measure, the F-sharp to A -- Can you tell me what note you're playing with the F-sharp and which strings you're using? Thanks!
Tuning on this tune is DDAD, and the f# to a is played a couple of different ways. On the middle D string, I either play it 2-2 shifting from first to 3rd position, or 2-4 staying in first position.
Looking forward to your post of Midnight on the Water.

Great to meet you Tauvy. It's so cool to have music in your family. Hopefully we will meet in person someday. Tell Jerry that Vi says Hi!
