@cmls1987 Same problem here. I have a replacement socket -- you can get them on ebay for cheap -- but I'm not sure how to remove the broken one, or connect the new one. It is so small!

i used this video about 3 years ago when i had the same problem-my backlight wouldn't turn on. i bought a soldering iron and soldering wire just for this. i soldered both ends of that tiny fuse and my psp (fat 1000) works to this very day! thanks

my problem is a have no fuse replacement. the fuse is gone so what will i do? can i short the fuse connector using led. i mean instead fuse i will use a led or jumper. is it ok?

by taking a wire and pushing on or on the side of the fuse you want to do what? like mel t the fuse to remake connection? or jump the fuse with a wire?

I have a question to u use sodering irons? to reconnect cuz I think mine broke off on accident but when I try to line it up the backlight comes on I just need a way to reconnect the back light ribbon?? same with my video ribbon something firked up with it when I press down on it. It fixes the screen display...

I fixed the backlight with duck tape stronger... and well my psp died a month ago sadly, but my brother is giving me his psp 1000 cuz he felt sorry!!! the UMD reader is broken but I thought I could swap my 2000 with the 1000? will it work or r they diff. models of readers?

if you mean pixilated or etchy try taking apart your psp and pulling your screen up then turn the psp on and slowly pull a little on the flat cable that goes to the screen (pull away from the screen SLOWLY). If it fixes it, as it did mine, ducktape at the tightness it needed.

u burnt the fuse and damaged the motherboard. Buy a new motherboard from eBay (one that has custom firmware installed)

ok, im a intermediate modder and electrician, but it sounds to me like you actually may have blown out either a fuse or a lot of fuses. try bridging it with aluminum foil first and if it works, solder a wire on it or put a big blob on it

i need help with mine, i think thats the problem, when i turn it on the back light doesnt come one, and the power ligth stays on but turns off after 20 seconds, and when backlight does come one, after 15 seconds it freezes, and then 5 sec. after it turns off, idk how to fix
