Bridgeport is changing for the better. More and more restaurants and bars are coming in. Anyways, its not about the fucking stadiums. Its about the baseball teams. The Sox have been the better team in Chicago for the last two decades. Wrigley Field is a huge tourist trap. Some Cubs fans are wizening up and starting to actually not support the team putting lousy products on the field anymore. This is going to be very important when some of the bigger contracts come off the books.

Like old Comiskey Park, Wrigley is old and decrepit. No matter how sentimental Cub fans get, the park will have to be tore down and replaced at some point in the future.

Wrigley has bars and restaurants nearby, but the Sox have the nicer stadium and put better teams on the field.

The Sox were helped out because they brought jobs to an area that needed them. The Rickets Family are in over there head, at least that is what it seems like. Not my problem though. Cubs fans seem to be so insecure and always freak out over the Sox and what others think about them. All that BS talk about "class"

Mr. Ricketts would be smarter to ask taxpayers to fund a new ballpark that still incorporates pieces of Wrigley that fans really like, like the Sox did with the old Comiskey scoreboard.

At some point, Cubs fans/management are going to realize that putting a team on the field that can win games is more important than selling warm beer and game tickets to an outdated stadium. Plus, the Cubs have awarded some high dollar contracts to mediocre players..

@nightfrog65 They did ask the taxpayers and were told no by the peoples representatives. Obviously the bad contracts really crippled the Cubs. They had a window to win, and they didn't do it. Now they are suffering the repercussions. It is going to get really interesting as these contracts come off the books. I don't see the Rickets being able to use all of it to sign players. They are going to have to put some towards rebuilding Wrigley, or maybe even a new stadium totally, out in the Suburbs.

Im a White Sox Fan, big time, and i dispise Wrigley field because of those god damn steel Beams every 5 seats down. Based on stadiums, the Cell has bigger seats, it has a jumbotron, it has lots of bars, t.vs, sound systems, fireworks, It got Radar guns, Batting cages, but most importantly when its 100 degrees, they got that pull down shower thingy lol..
