  • If only Shanshan culd have done so in the Beam Final she would have won again, but she fell... This routine was nearly flawless! She's my favorite on beam!!!^^

  • i seriously thought that if china didn't make any mistakes they would have taken all the gold in women's gymnastics

  • and if they were/are all the required age....

  • well...chinese girls tend to look smaller than their age. but that being said i do agree that they look 8

  • They're both amazing.

  • He Kexin is unbelievable

    absolutely amazing

  • china the best..Cheng Fei and cia...

  • I love the front aerial-FT back handspring combination. She does that 2nd element so well. This is an event finals routine, if not the gold medal...

  • This smiFromBalarus is mentally sick! He has been bashing every Chinese gymnast on Youtube.

  • Does anyone know who's floor music was on during LSS's BB? fab routine btw.

  • It's a remixed version inspired on the ballet "Romeo and Juliet" by prokofiev, but I don't know the mixer artist, sounds a bit like Edvin MArton?....

  • Shawn tumbles harder on the beam and has a better dismount.

  • youtube should seriously have a banning system for irresponsible comments.

  • Icecruncherz, you mean for people who speak the truth? This is real, people say the truth, if you dont like it than dont read. China Cheats!

  • Actually its in response to Shawn taking steroids. I honestly feel sorry for you. I dont know how old you are, but your behaviour is incredibly juvenile. Maybe in a few years you will grow up, or maybe you'll just carry on being this whiny slanderous vile thing all through your life.

  • You can say what you want but Ive heard serious accusations that Shawn coach supposedly gives her an anti growth hormone that allows you to gain strenght but not height. Its from China and not tracable in current doping tests.

  • I can not belive you are here too to post so many irresponsible anti-chinese comments and I do belive the ones like you who are ill mentaly should be sent to hospital, and why not "concentratin camps"..? you are not wrothing in the world!

  • Apparently, you have no brain.

Take your racist home and stop shitting here.

  • I admit it. They learned all the tricks from their Leninist red masters. Soon we will crush the wayward Republics and have them back in chains. Putin gonna get you. Go direct to gulag, commie.

  • LSS scored 16.950 here.

Shawns highest score was 16.375 at that was at the (SC)AMcup which inflated or not is miles away from LSS.

  • Understood. And agreed. I guess the other girl has some other parts of the routine that add difficulty. Or she has better form. My point was only that on the things I notice, Shawn is better:

    -harder dismount

-3 connected tumbles, no step out, and floating high and down on last.

    -standing full

  • of course it looks spectacular and it's a very risky routine but not with the highest difficulty because it are elements on their own. I think LSS is cleverly composed to get the maximum possible A score with a relatively "save" routine.

  • We are in violent agreement. I'm just making the point that Shawn's routine seems more intrinsically gymnastically hard (and floatingly tumbled), regardless of the A score. I also think that some of the shenanigans that Liukin etc are doing on A score on bars are similar. Note, that FIG is going to change the system to cut back on several of the values Liukin is using to boost her score.

  • Oh...and I'm not happy how the scoring system on floor is incenting so many gymnasts to do so many combination passes rather than full up hard skills with double saltos.

  • I agree too, however I dont find this routine very interesting and would expect more from something scoring htis high.

  • What exactly is the FIG doing to cut back on Nastia's connections? I noticed that "Only 2 non flight elements from the same root skill may be counted for DV" but that wouldn't affect Nastia. She has two Ono's, the other pirouette she goes from reverse to L (a Lin maybe?), two in-bar stalders, and one fwd stalder in L grip.

If she sticks around for 2009 and beyond, I imagine she'll eliminate a couple skills from her routine, but I don't see how the new code is going to affect her negatively.

  • You sound like you know more about it than I do. I thought there was at least at one point a plan that only release-connected skills would get CV. I think it's silly to give CV for all these piros when it's a flowing event regardless. But that's me.

  • I see what you're saying... but the new Code still awards bonus to 2 connected non-flight elements if they're both at least D skills. In fact the formulas for direct connections on UB haven't changed one bit since the last Code.

The new rule about a maximum of 2 non-flight elements from the same ROOT skill will affect someone like Semenova, who currently does an in-bar stalder, an IBS with 1/2, and an IBS with full... she would have to eliminate one of them or face the wrath of Nellie Kim.

  • Well darn. I need to be king of gymnastics so I can cut the code whoring. UB is a swing event! Like PH or really PB (it's swung a lot like it). Only thing that should get bonus (in my world) is putting releases together or doing a release out of unusual grip (eagle, one arm, wrong way). Maybe same for dismounts.

  • Eh, that might be ok for the guys but it seems to be asking a bit much from the ladies. I really admire Tweddle for doing a Khorkina + Gienger, but she's the only one doing two releases on the high bar that I know of.

When one arm giants were first introduced to WAG about 15 years ago, I think they were devalued immediately (to the same as a two-arm giant) so as to discourage females from attempting/competing them.

I like the connections formulas - they COULD get really creative with them.

  • li shanshans combination pass is INSANE, and her routine has more variety and i think better execution, shawns is all whippy and lands alot of her skills with low shoulders.

  • Shawn lands high on her combination pass and it is stunningly tumbled. Totally connected.

  • I agree. I think Shawn and LSS are the best out there now in beam, and this was perfect. The big question now is whether they'll give her chance!! I heard she's going to lose out to Xiao Sha for the final spot. :(

  • I don't think Li Shanshan will lose her spot in Beijing, if that's what you mean. China needs to maintain their high standard on this apparatus so they need a good beam worker like Li. I actually Xiao Sha is risking her spot in Beijing due to her inconsistencies but I hope she can make it because China also needs her on beam.

  • what does "step out" mean? I've heard it so many times but don't seem to understand the meaning of it.

  • a Stepout is when you land one foot followed by another.. for e.g., Shawn does a Layout Stepout after her switch leap in her BB routine.

  • ¬¬'

no emocionante da prova da he kexin viram a camera!

  • i hear that she had 16years old..

i hope it's true, if that's right...she i'll able to stay in Beinjin TEAM ;D

  • does he kexin stick her landing?

Li is consistent this time...but i am still worried about her
