It was ok, and your mind is in the right place. But, don't be afraid to venture beyond the monatone world of computers and "straight" sounds. This sounds a bit monotone, and if your going to use a drun machine, just be aware that there are endless possibilites. But, in hip hop and rap, I feel we become to dependent on the drum machine when forming beats. I guess it's ok, but don't be afraid to experiment with the sounds, so it doesn't sound boring. Use Timbaland as a good example...
