  • Love him also! They don't make them like him any more!

  • I love Walter Brennan!

  • Walter Brennan was great -as always- in an episode of "Alias Smith & Jones" (starring the great, late Pete Duel and the equally great Ben Murphy).

  • Have you listened to Walter Brennan's "Suppertime"? what a wonderful character he was.

  • What a man Walter love the words of his songs so clear and easy to understand.

  • never new him but love his work very clean and down to earth.

  • His hair was jet black and he was 21 when he was living in his hometown of Boston.

  • Many people don't know Brennan was a war hero. Loved his acting and love his songs. I ture American Patriot.

  • God, what a sad song. I am Onanedoga 50% and I find this typical.

  • This is a classic song of forbidden love with a surprising twist at the end.

  • Walter Brennan brought his own style to this lovely song. Much like Old rivers.

  • I still cant work out whether we should take this kind of thing seriously? Very corny, but very good in its own way, I think, maybe? I dunno.

  • In Reechmon Heel NY, ya can't!

  • Love these old song, Do you happen to have Tennesee Stud and Scarlet Ribbons.

  • Great version of this song! I loved how Walter "talked" his way through his songs and how it worked so well!

  • @stlgtrace

Yeah, and the younger folk think "rap" is something new. Of course, the country folk, Lorne Greene among them (Remember "Ringo"?), who "talked" the songs had a lot more class and love for America than any of this new "talent".

  • @EdWatts You're Absolutely right!!!!

  • And I am Cherokee....Dont cross one is what I say.

  • Walter Brennan was real good. Old Rivers was my favorite of his.
