  • I love the Juicy Juice colors Cyan Purple Red Pink Green Cyan Purple Red Pink. now it's all gone THANKS TO THE NEW PBS KIDS!!!
  • They played this theme when "Arthur Christmas" won awards

  • Grandpa pissed@1:20

  • Arthur ftw!!!

  • memories, so many memories

  • Back when the "Viewers Like You" line wasn't followed by "Thank You"

  • I REMEMBER THESE!

The earliest Arthur episodes reminded me of "The Busy World of Richard Scarry" (same company and producers, but it wasn't aired on PBS.)

Hmm, having seen the classic episodes with the newer opening/closings, I wonder what it'd look like with a newer episode using these old opening/closings?

  • Holy shit...this takes me back. After PBS made Clifford, their programming started going down the tubes. Bring back Mr. Rogers, Arthur, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Wishbone! Greatest kids shows ever.

  • @FirstShirtBeastblood Arthur is still around with new episodes. but nothing beats 90s Arthur. =D

  • @sclublnbtfan really? It's still around? I agree, nothing beats the older styles of tv shows. Anyone remember waiting until Saturday just to watch cartoons in general? I sure do! lol!

  • i wonder what would happen if i called that number or sent that address a note saying i wanted a video.

    :(

    RIP the classic arthur

im still happy its on the air, but the voices and everything changed. its not like i remember. :(

  • 'Order on videocassette.' Weren't those the days

  • Wow!

    I love this!

I think I saw this opening in like 2002 or something.

    Awesome!

  • I truley remember this old Arthur opening and closing from my childhood.

  • ahhhh the 90's

  • the 90's was the shit.

  • I remember this! :-) (I don't live in South Dakota though)

  • This made me drink so much Juicy Juice back in the day.

  • omg I was 8 at the time of the premier of this show and remember this very well

  • iS THERE A MP3 VERISON OF THIS.???

  • @HuntinTracker87 search youtube to mp3 and you can find sites that will very easily render and MP3 for you

  • Just to let you all know the new season of arthur will be on tommorow from as I'm typing this.

  • This is such nostalgia!!

  • This recorded V.H.S. quality is amazing.

  • i've been looking for this one for years! thank you so much

  • LOL! I love the ident from 0:00 to 0:13! It's so clever!

  • What day was the PBS baloon ident used on? I know it was used in 1996, but can someone tell me what day they added the baloon ident.

  • Ah yes, THIS is the one I remember, with the old, old, OLD Juicy Juice ad.

  • The episodes were "D.W.'s Imaginary Friend" and "Buster's Dino Dilemma".

  • These videos were from October 9 & 10, 1996

  • See! If you are a 1990's baby. like this if you want the old endings and styles back.

  • @FluffMaster101 I KNOW I DO

  • @FluffMaster101 im totally with you i was born in 1994 and i still remember when i was 3 or 4 that Polaroid and juicy juice were the first sponsers and that there was no thank you said after the viewers like you thing!

  • @FluffMaster101 I'm with you, man!

  • @gillinjohn NO CONTEST! 90's Arthur, TOTALLY BEATS ALL!!!!

  • Sons Of Admirals made a cover of this song !!!

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude cool!!!!

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude really????????!!!!!! and does dallas jokic sound like camron ansell?

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude really????? mike was 19 playing arthur????

  • I think The Magic School Bus also had the "local library" bumper appear after that same PBS Kids ident at 4:15 back then.

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude i just read that not too long ago. and justin did sounded like michael

  • I remember those facese cartoons when I was kid!

  • Was this video recorded September 23, 1996?

  • @Miketheyoutubization It must have been, and the ending part was probably recorded on September 16, 1996.

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude but arthurs voice was deep in a few old episodes michael yarmush and justin bradley they both sounded the same

  • @TheFilmCollectorDude they cant reprise there role cause there voices are too deep

  • Why can't they do the funding like this..... Funding for Arthur is provided by the national endowment for children's educational television. The Arthur vining davis foundations. Major corporate underwriting for Arthur is provided by..... (juicy juice 100% juice for 100% kids). And by the corporation for public broadcasting. And by the annual financial support of PBS viewers like you.

  • @0816brandon You forgot the "Thank You" at the end!!!

  • And that Corporation for Public Broadcasting logo (you know that old circle sign) that was freaking me out. But I did like the viewers like you sign. Plus I didn't know it was also provided by the national endownment for children's educational television and the Arthur vining Davis foundations.

  • Man didn't remember when it had the part about ordering the Arthur series on VHS. All I remember is they show you the website and the then the library message.

  • Man, this is VERY old. The CPB circle is retired (and creepy), the PBS credit ("...and Viewers Like You....") is now improper without saying "PBS station" and "Thank You" Libby's sold their "Juicy Juice" drink to Nestle and is no longer a sponsor (plus the billboard is an acid trip), the Arthur title screen doesn't have trademark symbolsafter the word "Arthur", you can only go to the grown-up PBS website to "vist Arthur online", CinAR is plastered with Cookie Jar....

  • (adding to the previous commment) And ohh baby the P-pals on the station ID and the 1993 PBS Kids logo is used instead of 1996 (Programming error or wasn't in use then?). Of course most of this can be found on the first volumes of the Random House Arthur tapes (minus the P-pals and opening funding, plus the online plug was after the funding in the videos). EncoreVisions, are these premeries?

  • OH GOSH I REMEMBER THIS!

  • THIS IS P-B-S!

  • I miss the old PBS kids :/ the new one is Lame-O.

  • @Misskayseeluvsu Have you tried watching "Martha Speaks" or "Fetch With Ruff Ruffman?"

  • @EncoreVisions I used to watch Fetch, but not anymore

  • @EncoreVisions Oh ya 4got I like arther yet some the show suck

  • @EncoreVisions

    They suck

  • @EncoreVisions Have you seen "WordGirl"? MAN, that show is cool!

  • @thevisualboy37: Yeah. It's Superman (Becky "WordGirl" Botsford as a female Clark "Superman" Kent, with Todd "Scoops" Ming as her Lois Lane, "Captain Huggyface" Bob as her Krypto, and--I guess--Tobey McCallister III as her Lex Luthor) Meets Schoolhouse Rock (vocabulary wise) Meets Powerpuff Girls (art style).

  • @EncoreVisions Or Curious George. Childish but still a good show.

  • @Misskayseeluvsu I know but blam the adults of 2day 4 that

  • @Disney708 that's true :-)

  • @Misskayseeluvsu PBS Kids has some good shows left. Let's say Ruff Ruffman, Martha and Wordgirl.

  • @FromtheWordsofBR

Being as objective as it's possible to be for an adult, my problem with newer PBS kids shows is that they seem rather shallow. There's not much meat on them. (That goes double for the animation, which is usually full of digital shortcuts that really look bloodless and antiseptic). And they''re much more nakedly curriculum-oriented than older shows were---it seems to me that older shows usually mixed the curriculum more seamlessly with the stories than newer ones.

  • Athur back than in the 90s was Great!!!!!!!!!! now today Arthur today sucks!!!!!!

  • Still a good show though.

  • That was 3 years before my time!

  • Aww it`s the original voice actor for D.W. <3

  • Wow, I have a photographic memory of that juicy juice part. Thanks for sharing!
