  • Great track! Curiously, it's mis-labeled; the song was not written by Fields & McHugh but by L Wolfe Gilbert (words) & Abel Baer (music) in 1929.

  • Only songs he had on the R&B charts are I'll Live True to You and Because of You. From the sounds of his recordings he should have had more hits. What a crime.

  • Duke Reid theme

  • The only version of this song I like is by THE ROYAL TEENS

  • great sound reminds me of my childwood

  • how good is tab smith please? i am stunned

  • I grew up on this, along with the rooster crowing, announcing " Its Treasure Isle Time". Beautiful memories, thanks for posting.

  • @two9parkave Me too, Oneil Interesting to see we share some common musical interests and experiences.

  • It was also the generic of the "Treasure Isle Time" radio show sponsored by Duke Reid the Trojan in Kingston back in the 50s (ref: Bass Culture -- Lloyd Bradley)

  • @metamorph68 Am currently reading Bass Culture and finding the many music references on youtube which helps to bring the book alive. Long live youtube!
