did you buy the Emotive Developer or Research Edition? It did not seem that Robot was sensitive enough to detect the signal that made you do eye-browing so many times.
Maybe eye blinking algorithm is better than Epoic's "thoughts" software. Good job anyway!!!!
@FellipeEugenioO you're right and wrong. You're thinking wrong, its not a fake vid, but the headset has a gyroscope. Emotiv can read brain activity, head motions and facial expressions.
@Kookas Expressiv and Cognitiv are different so I'm actually not quite sure. I have the headset and it's great so far. It isn't too hard to use.. but using multiple commands in a short amount of time can be difficult.
Oh yeah! Almost forgot! Being a cat lover... LOL... got quite a laugh when the cat knocked something over in the background. So very typical!!! Still laughing at that.
I'd be even more impressed if "Robosapien" could be controlled by thought only. I'm not that big on the use of facial movement and facial expressions to fully accomplish a task. (I have an extremely physically disabled wife who doesn't have much facial movement and can't raise her eyebrows like that). But having said that... nice job on converting the remote control over to your computer and impressive work with the headset!
@bhamadicharef afaik you can connect both your facial recognition, as well as some specific brain activities to keystrokes or devices. But it looks definitly funny how he used his forehead as a brake :-)
This is just the beginning. As more people begin to use direct brain interfaces, their brains will begin to optimize the mind -> machine interface. What takes considerable concentration to us now, might be childs play to future people.
Good idea, well done, but two things could use improvement: one, you need to do more training with the epoc, and second, try to find some more useful and/or agile device to control through this. This toy doesn't even scare your cat. :-)
Wasn't this toy in some movie that starred that guy from King of the Queens?

@TomGezen I think it reads facial expressions through brain activity, or is that wrong?

Surely in the future our children will be laughing at us brain interface illiterate, just like how we laugh at our parents as computer illiterates.

disappointed in those who blast EMG. EMG is extremely useful, and BCI EEG can be programmed to do the same functions if the user had chosen to do so.

If one look at the face grimaces and head of the user, this is not strictly brain wave ... as much as it seems to be EMGs ... good effort anyway.
