I agree that rape is a horrid thing. However, there are some women who have been able to rise above (understanding that good can come from bad) and love that child understanding that the child is purely innocent.

I agree our society is in absolute turmoil which leads to such horror as rape but killing babies isn't the solution.

What about the non-rape abortions? People go for an abortion like getting a tooth pulled. I find that distressing.

I would prefer a different tact such as re-instilling moral values of modesty and self-respect. With self-respect comes respect for others.

Also, there are plenty of contraceptives available. I have known plenty of girls who have resorted to abortion out of sheer laziness and lack of pre-planning. I believe if there was more of a stigma about it, they would have been more careful. They just don't make the connection as they don't think very deeply.

What defines modesty and self-respect is up to each individual. When you claim acts like abortion are defying these two values all you're doing is stating an opinion. Not a fact. It's all in the perception.

Everybody has their own perception based on the life they have lived. So, for people to instill these values in their kids wouldn't necessarily produce the result that you personally desire in this world.

Hence, pro-choice; Let each individual make up their OWN mind.

It's a partially developed fetus. It cannot survive without the mother or artificial life support. If a partially developed fetus is qualified to decide matters of life/death should kids have freedom to drink, smoke, fuck, vote, own guns, etc?

Who is more equipped to make the decision? Said fetus above or a grown mother who created this fetus and will have to raise/neglect it?
