The only galaxy we as humans can see with our naked eyes is the andromeda galaxy, and that alone looks like a small fuzzy cloud. The "points of light" that we see, with naked eyes, are other stars in our milky way galaxy. As for the other life out there, I'll ask God when I meet him in Heaven!

When the hubble telescope concentrated on a very small portion of sky a number of years back, it took a picture of literally thousands of galaxies in one small area, so you are partially correct although the number of unseen galaxies is estimated at a much larger number, around 200 billion. It's my belief the number is infinite

Aliens would most likely look very, very different from us, and that stereotypical alien figure just makes any ET supporter look stupid.

Of course, there could be any number of aliens that look very different, but this is what is commonly reported. How are you so sure they would not be in this shape? If the most intelligent creature on this planet has two arms, two legs and a head on top, why wouldn't a creature from a similar planet evolve in a similar way?

scientists have worked out the chances of there being other life supporting planets just in out galaxy and there could be millions however unless we can travel at the speed of light we may never reach them as if they are just one light year away we could never travel there in a single lifetime. our solar system is 160,000 light years across and 16,000 deep and is a spiral we are located near the edge.

This CNN stuff is a joke, but to those commenting: If you think we're alone in the universe or we're the pinnacle of intelligence in the universe you might want to look into the nights sky - away from the city so you can actually see a large number of stars.. realize, most of those points of light are entire galaxies which harbor billions of suns which have chances to harbor a planet that can sustain life.. then realize even in the black spots there are thousands more galaxies

The only galaxy we as humans can see with our naked eyes is the andromeda galaxy, and that alone looks like a small fuzzy cloud. The "points of light" that we see, with naked eyes, are other stars in our milky way galaxy. As for the other life out there, I'll ask God when I meet him in Heaven!

@joshdaugherty1111 all of those "points of light" are stars in our own galaxy; even in a very dark sky the closest galaxy to us (Andromeda) looks like a fuzzy cloud. When the hubble telescope concentrated on a very small portion of sky a number of years back, it took a picture of literally thousands of galaxies in one small area, so you are partially correct although the number of unseen galaxies is estimated at a much larger number, around 200 billion. It's my belief the number is infinite
