I just want to let you know that I'm proud of you in so many ways.... you've come far in recovery, you've come out on your sexuality and I'm sure you've accomplished many things since we last heard from you.... and you MUST be proud of yourself for those achievements because I'm sure those are not easy task to deal with! What makes me mad though is closed minded people ARGGHHHHHH! I wish they can live in your shoes and see how it feels like to be dealing with the things you deal with everyday!
i really don't even know what to say, other than i'm sorry and it's awful to judge another person based on their sexuality, especially when it's your family. i think you're incredibly strong for having to deal with that from those you love. on the bright side, you should be SO proud of yourself for feeling better.
and the fact that you choose to focus on your LIFE istead of the life of your e.d. is a huge reinforcer of your recovery. wow. That is very significant, so - major props. ;) When you don't want to talk about it anymore...you've transferred the power to the actual stuff in your life rather than the false power of the e.d. Good for you, truly!
I'm so happy for you. You're amazing for working so hard at recovery and being such a positive example for others. Even more amazing that the personal life stuff hasn't affected your eating. You're dealing with it, instead of receding into the eating disorder. The reactions to your sexuality are inexcusable. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. It sounds just sickening. Gosh. I'm so sorry sweetie. So sad, but you are holding your own and articulating yourself so strongly. Keep it up...more..
Congratulations for feeling better about food! As for the family situation- hang in there! Its an interesting topic, I'm originally from Pakistan and recently a friend and I were discussing the way homosexuality- or any kind of sexuality that's not hetrosexuality- is not only looked down upon, its almost so unacceptable that its totally ignored. Even as someone from a fairly liberal family, I think I would have to be pretty discrete if I was in a relationship with a girl. I commend your bravery!
@ClearUncertainty: First, CONGRATULATIONS on such positive Healing progress ED-wise & also in love! <3 YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON! I am heartbroken for you because there is still so much ignorance & prejudice in this world. You were born with your sexual orientation; it isn't a choice & being lesbian is NOT a flaw! I am sorry you have been so rejected & hurt. SHAME ON YOUR AUNT for being so cruel & bigoted! :( Stay strong, love. You are beautiful! Xoxox
Stay strong girl! I am southeast asian and I understand the asian mentality. Most of asian society frowns upon homosexuality or it's a hush hush topic. Don't worry there's always denial and anger at first. Parents don't take it well because they have all these thoughts about how you were going to turn out. I can imagine it being really hard since family is very important. I hope you will be okay health wise and just maintain your happy life you have now.
I just want u to know I totally understand..it Will be ok though..jus keep your head up and live for YOU
