  • De laquelle partie de la France vien tu de?

  • Je viens d'Irlande, mais je sais le français même si je doute, je suis correct dans ma formulation

  • Paris

  • think of the French "J" sound as being pronounced like the "s" in the english word "pleasure"...that's the best way i can put it

  • sa déchire!!!

  • Leyla, you are really talented. How did you manage to learn so many different languages.

  • in this video she speaks english and japanese(not mandarine!)

  • so for the J sound, it's more of a mix of "shh" with a typical english way of the J sound?

  • I love the nasal sounds in the french language!

Love the comparison between mandarin and french! Lucky I speak it too. When I pronounce the alphabet 'u' I think of fish in mandarin.. they are very similar!

  • you're sooo impressive :D

  • wooow combien d langues parlez vous????

sorry thought it would be appropriate to ask in french

  • man , more than anything am thinking how many languages does this girl know????????!!!

and its not like that she speaks bit, but she speaks fluently mandarin , french and english and what not... good job girl and excellent teaching. so far the best video on learning language :-)

  • Bel accent , vraiment. :)

  • I'm no Noam Chomsky, but that sounds more like Japanese than French to me.

  • don't worry too much about the english mistake "understanding." native speakers make that mistake all the time, at least in america. i was actually a little thrown to discover that it was a mistake! of course, striving for perfection is a goal. your english pronunciation is fabulous

  • Really? Sorry, but how...it seems very obvious to me, as a native speaker. (UK, btw)

I didn't actually notice Leyla getting it wrong though :D

  • oh wow, i rewatched it and i guess i re-wrote it in my head, persay. i have a bad habit of doing that. (hearing what i'm reading) i must have read the subtitle and just fixed what she was saying. whoops!

  • Um, no we don't lol. I've never heard a native speaker make that mistake.

  • I already explained myself. see above.

  • Thanks.

  • bravo profiseure

  • bebe,you are so fine!

  • why did she respell Bonjour twice..

    ITS THE SAME SPELLING..

  • putain t stupide hein?

in french j's are pronounced like g's and g's are pronounced like j's... she even said the purpose was to help with the pronunciation

  • it was kind of obvious that she was pronouncing the letters first with the english pronunciation and then with the french.

  • oh my god !!! how many languages do you speak?!?! I'm taking French for 2 semester. but i can't understand what people speak at all... it's way too fast for me...

  • I visited & subscribed to your French course because I wanted to improve my pronunciation, but I found much more than I was barging for, because yours it is a wonderful idea & very well applied, furthermore you are sweet & beautiful & not only physically but your soul is beautiful because you are investing time to help others with out any reward & that is great. I speak Spanish, Romanian, English, Italian, Portuguese & some French, but never thought to teach others, hence all my respect to you.

  • Still beautiful!

  • I was very pleased to see the instruction that you offer via the internet. I have a very strong interest in visiting Europe. I am a recent graduate of the MBA program. Are you in the U.S. and would you be interested in sharing your email address. I have a friend who is from West Africa but I am experiencing difficulty learning from him. I am also wanting to learn Japanese and Spanish. Arie

  • she can speak 3 of the most beautiful language japanese french and english

  • you are really smart...

  • putain tu parles combien de langues toi ?

un français pafait, un anglais sans accent et un japonais fluide.

    xxx

  • you were GREAT! and soooooo talented !wow!

u made the pronounciations very clear you were fantastique !! :)

  • You are a talented bauty!

  • pues es claro que tu eres una buena fuente de inspiracion par los que han tratado de dominar algun otra lengua, si se puede!

  • You have some serious talent o.o

  • How many languages do you speak in total?

    PS Je suis Quebecois.

  • Je suis français mais c'est interressant quand même de voir les difficultés qu'on peut avoir à apprendre notre langue...

  • nice video! its very hard to perfect those sounds that we dont have in english, especially the nasal ones. i have alot of trouble with the nasal "in" in mince and province ,it gets so frustrating. its great to be able to hear it over and over. * when you gave the example of an overdone R bonjour, it reminded me of "je ne regrette rien" my friends and i mimick that song for fun, and over-do our R's. hdr *

  • the "in" sound is difficult indeed. I've been trying to find a way to explain it, but I'm afraid I can't. If you say it like you would in english, people will understand, I guess. english speakers and hispanics have so much trouble with those nasals...

  • Je pense que je suis bon avec bonjour maintenant. ^_^

  • I could pronounce the word of this video, but with japanese accent :)

  • the french 'r' is actually present in one form or another in MANY languages (such as hebrew). I am not quite certain why it's so hard to pronounce, it's like the lesser version of you trying to cough out phlegm from your trachea...

  • it's actually better to study the positioning of your tongue and where and where not to restrict your airway when it comes to learning a new sound rather than attempting to reference it to a sound that you already know. That's just me.

  • I wouldn't know how to explain it that way. but it's interesting! personally I do eveything by ear.

  • I can see you have made great strides on your Chinese, congratulations!

  • lol, yeah slowly but surely. thanx for noticing!

  • Always amazing, interesting and useful.

Your explanation is always clear... and your accuracy in explaining and rendering the most particular sounds is admirable.

About the mistakes (that I didn't notice... but I'm not english)... well, Leyla, mistakes make us human.

You tries your best, I'm sure: this is what matters! :-)

  • See? I made an english mistake, in the last line!

Because I'm a human being as well! :-)

  • Oh, I'm a bit of a perfectionist!

  • It's the right spirit: to always try to do your best.

    Bon dimanche! :-)
