Yeah this song used to get the weekend kicked off. Sent chills up my back knowing the 8-5 m-f grind was over and the weekend was up. Dig the video. Great one to have in the archives.
The greatest KLBJ DJ to ever grace the studios... The infamous Johnny Walker! That was how I knew it was time to quit work on Friday afternoon and bring on the weekend. We miss you Johnny Walker hope you are doing better! For my mother!
You know what's awesome? Kevin McKinney (left guitarist) taught me how to play guitar. He taught me for 2 years. He's possible the coolest guy I've ever met.
Made it? If my old and feeble mind recalls correctly they DID make it, and I'd say they didn't want the level of compromise, artisticly and otherwise, that comes with a big record deal.

@hellfire177 and a good golfer! He is a rare talent. Billy is one smoking guitarist too. I bought a strat from him years and years ago.

They made everything they were looking for. "Making it is what you make of it!"

Never knew why these guys never "made-it". Definately one of the most, if not the most original bands of the 90's from Austin.
SpeedballinAcidFreak 4 years ago 2
That's because these guys actually refused major Stardom, they were actually bigger than they wanted to be.

Soul Hat at Liberty Lunch were shows I will never forget. Both are now gone but that scene was Austin Rock n Roll at its best.

Amen to that...Buddy Guy at Liberty Lunch was always a treat! I used to see Soulhat at Steamboat on 6th all the time..damn I miss those days... :(
