Here's a question that I haven't been able to find an answer for. My iPhone 2G is already jailbroken & Unlocked through an older version of Pwnage Tool and I'm running 2.1 firmware. I have a brand new Macbook running 10.5.6. Its been a while since I upgraded my iphone firmware through pwnage tool so my question is, will I still need to mess with DFU Mode? Do you think I will have any problems? I really want to upgrade to firmware 2.2.1

if you want to jailbreak an ipod touch with 2.2.1 firmware and you have mac os x 10.5.6 you must use a usb hub....the jailbreak goes smoothly if you connect the ipod to a usb instead of a direct connection to the MB or MBP

nothing... it is only when you go to jailbreak because apple added a patch to block ipod/iphones to connect when they are in DFU mode
