Eric Holder's very firm worked for some detainees pro bono and delayed the process, then Obama stopped the military tribunals dead in their tracks for 11 months, only to resume them for other detainess, but not the 9/11 war criminals being held.

Haven't you ever heard of the Nuremberg Trials? The U.S. and other Allied nations gave Nazi war criminals a fair trial, according to standards of justice very similar to those set out in the Constitution. And it strengthened American credibility. The world saw that the US wasn't vindictive and that US ideals of justice meant something, and no one could ever say that the Nazis didn't get their day in court. That's exactly what we need to do with the 9/11 terrorists.

The Nuremberg Trials were military tribunals, but grouping them with the tribunals that the US has used against Guantanimo detainees is like grouping crab apples with domestic apples. They're technically related but practically very different. The trial procedures and standards at Nuremberg were determined by negotiations between several nations and in accord with existing international human rights law. US military tribunals are formed by the military and aren't appropriate for criminal trials.

You have some of the key elements wrong about Sudan. The reason we did not get OBL was political. We knew OBL was behind the first trade center and the African bombings. Newt thought Clinton was only trying to get OBL bc of the Monica scandal, so he blocked it (3 equal branches of gov. remember). I think OBL is in the Sudan still, I think we should have gone in there (also genocide). The Sudanese gov. was just killing ppl bc of religion, they killed even Muslims who were "black".
