In the headphones, I'm listening to the bass track, which I recorded first, completely a cappella. I then sang all the other voices using that track and then re-sang the bass part again, using the 3 other recorded voices. ;-)

this has been on my mind ever since I started watching your video's, but what do you use to record your voice, because when I try recording my voice it always comes out crappy.

@GamekrazzyProduction Thank you! I use a Zoom H4n portable recording device, it's a pretty good microphone. I also sing in a small room with wooden walls, which creates a warm & natural reverb.

@MsCayla13 Honestly, not much. Apart from the vocals which sound a bit unnatural and pop-ish to me, I think the storyline is weak and that the characters lack depth and interest. We never heard the actors reheasing, only performing (=lip-singing). The characters are caricatures : nerds with no friends, desperately trying to be "cool", and all of a suddenly realizing they have amazing vocal skills. It's just too unrealistic to me, I don't relate. What about you?

I love this song almost as much as I like the new glee episode. No I think I like the new glee episode a bit better. But still I love this song.

@MsCayla13 What really bothers me with Glee and prevents me from enjoying it is that the vocals are auto-tuned, heavily sound engineered (deep basses, compression) and lip-sung. Visuals don't match the sound : we see a few singers and hear a lot more. It's not real acapella. The actors would never sound like they do on a real stage without microphones.

I'm flattered by the comparison though, of course ;-). Just try and hear that artificial side of Glee and perhaps you'll see what I mean. Cheers

@trudbol im an audio engineer and i 100% agree with you... glee and other modern great productions do not rely on the singers ability anymore, but need the engineer and the audio team to be damn good manipulating the recordings...that's why your project is so lovely...your singing by itself is enought to make our hair chill....reminds me how i fell with HAIR the musical...i just have to say: THANK YOU brother....keep posting!
