  • like father like son?

  • Low A! Low B C or even A are somewhat common. My contrabass has a low B extension if I use the extension bridge and the right stops, it will do low A. Guitars have been tuned more ways than I want to count!

  • :-)

  • Thanks for the upload, artielon! Two geniuses at their best - timing, taste, tone and musical wit!

A hard act to follow ...

  • Bucky and son gettin' sick on a classic tune ( that always makes me think of basket ball )

  • That amazing sense of timing must be genetic.

  • Couple of amateurs. I could do that while riding a roller coaster AND reading Finnegan's Wake.

  • @tomthefunky we all know

  • i just read a great interview with John Pizzarelli...they are both plugged straight into that one amplifier in front of them...while everyone else is worrying over what effects pedals to use, and which of the neo classical metal shredders are the "best guitarists," i think i will quietly enjoy talent and brilliance like this. thanks for posting.

  • This is not a "009" string amateurs video!!!!!!! Remember, guys, Jimy plays a 011 High E String.....but, out of the "009" world exist a musical UNIVERSE, not only rock music!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's one THICK low E string!

  • @hendrix0is0lord I don´t believe it´s an E but that next one up is the normal low E. It may be in the register of A to C. Does anybody know for sure? I´m curious.

  • @artielon Yeah please i would also love to know

  • @artielon It's a low A and then the rest is tuned standard. John mentions it on one of his videos.

  • @digglesMcgee Thanks! That makes sense: a fifth down gives fine bass notes.

  • @artielon wouldnt it be a low B?

  • @electro257 See the earlier discussion about that. Of course there´s a possibility to do a special tuning of a half to a full step up or down...

  • @hendrix0is0lord they play seven strings

  • now all we need is a followup video showing us how to make dom's perfect pasta

  • Wowwwwee!

  • They were amazing, oh by Christ, they sounds, like two sampler guitars, played by the same two hands.

  • Two of my favorite guitar players.

  • Awesome!

  • This is pretty incredible.

  • look at Buck's happy face: "This is my son"

  • I bet there Family Parties Rock, ! How do we get an invite ?

  • Extraordinary, you can see where John's style comes from.... You can hardly difference one guitar from the other if you don't look. This is a magnificient version, it ressembles very much the one they played with Stephane Grappelli ("Live at the Blue note"). Thank you for this great video.

  • These two are absolutely amazing!!!

That's why I've put them in my favorites.

Oh, by the way there is a very minor mistake (very minor).

See if you can find it. : )

    (hint: listen around 2:13 - 2:15)

  • @billfishoc That's no mistake - just a little half-step modulation; all part of the choreography! These guys are in my favourites too...

  • @billfishoc That was no mistake....that's what's known as genius!

  • @billfishoc I'm so disappointed by the non reaction to this music....this is greatness. like jango or stephane...but it's not appreciated.......You know what? all our great guitarist..(except for Brian Setzer} cant do this and are not going to try thanks for listening

  • Meraviglioso!

  • Bucky's better

  • great stuff

  • fantastic ! thanks!

  • Thanks for appreciating. It´s amazing how few views this kind of great music gets!
