this song made me cry when i first heard it! and this video is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hp friends and i plan to perform this on the boardwalk where we live
"Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home" JKR
"Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it" APWBD
2 legends of 2 parallel worlds but both poetically poignant.
What better help can anyone offer than a place you will always feel at home, just pick up the books and you're there again......
No words can't truly show the debt of gratitude a generation owes to JKR for cultivating its sense of wonder and enchantment so I'm left with the simple yet sublime.
Flat out: DaltonSetToKill NEVER said you were any less of a fan if you didn't grow up from the absolute beginning. All he said is that he would like to see a video of kids from his own generation. It's NOT hard to read. If you were capable of reading Harry Potter you should be capable of reading his comment correctly.. Thanks.
I don't know who I would be without Harry Potter. I can't wait to share this amazing story with my future children. Thank you J.K. Rowling for my magical childhood :)
I will give my kids my harry potter books and videos and they will pass it on to my grand-kids and my great grand kids and my great great grand kids.. THEY WILL NOT BE PROHIBITED BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TO SMUDGE IT, DENT IT, THROW IT,LOSE IT OR SELL IT. Harry Potter is my Horcrux and my childhood, nothing must ruin it. I love you, JK Rowling, until the end.
I'm just sad because I was such a late fan for Harry Potter but I still have the same feelings I love the books and the adventures and Everything the story has become, made, started,Turned us into, and left but it isn't or never will be gone it's with us forever it has definitly changed my life in many ways and I love how one small thing has made such a big impact Thank you, J.K. Rowling for creating something that will last throughout generations.
@DaltonSetToKill the age is only a count..it doesn't matter how old somebody is..there isn't any potterhead out there who cares about the age..cause we have stuck with harry until the very end,you know?nobody can control what his or her heart wants, loves & beats for..& i know,it's only a story, but for me it's much more than that..♥ it's my whole life & i can't understand how heartless someone can be that the only thing which he cares about the age is ..
it's the end of an era and the begin of a legend.i can't describe how grateful i am ,for everything j.k.rowling gives us.she is the most amazing person i've ever seen..
thank you ,j.k.rowling ,for my magical childhood;thank you for giving
my life a reason & a meaning .thank you for giving me the best thing which could ever happened to me.
hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home,potterheads.-always ♥.
cause we have stuck with harry until the very end ♥.
as i read the books, i became more and more interested in seeing a prequel series to the Potter series about the first time Voldemort rose to power and the first Order of the phoenix
Even though I only started reading the books this year (I have my reasons) but already I'm so in love with this beautiful series that Jo had created for us. It doesn't matter when we started loving them, or how, what's important is that it all comes down to reserving a large portion of our heart for Harry and everyone else in the magical world. And they will continue to live long in our hearts and in our lives.
For Potterheads everywhere. Until the very end. Always.

Lol Started Crying There. I Watched The First Movie When I Was 5 And Instantly Became A Fan. Even At Such A Young Age I Asked My Parents To Read The Books To Me And Now I Am 13 ( Obviosly My Parents Don't Still Read Them To Me ) And I Have Read J.K Rowling's Epic Series 11 Times And Counting. I Owe So Much To Jo The Harry Potter Books Helped Me Through A Lot Of Tough Times And Made Me Feel As Though I Belonged When I Felt So Alone.
I'm Glad To Know Many Others Feel This Way. I Can't Wait To Rea
Thank you Jo, for keeping me sane when i was so close to ending everything. Thank you for giving me a home and a place that i know that i truly belong.
Been a harry potter fan since i was 18? 26 now. Loved watching the kids grow in to adults and become so much more! Thanks J.K. Rowling for making me a friend to Harry, Ron and Hermoine. They shall forever hold a place in my heart, and the hearts of others!
I have been a Harry Potter fan since I was 7 and I am 17 now. The series has gotten me through a lot of rough times in my life. Harry Potter has always been there for me and comforted me when I felt alone or sad.
Tears full on pouring down my face! I love that this video thanks Jo (mainly) rather than Harry...
If anyone wants to take part in a current project for Jo, Changed by Jo Rowling (if you Google it you'll find the site) is about showing the impact Jo has had on the world, all the ways in which she's changed lives... Some of the HP cast & crew have taken part & hopefully Jo is going to see the project soon, so submit your story if you want her to see it! =)
Thank you Jo for creating Harry Potter books, thank you Warner Bros for the movies. Thank you Dan , Emma and Rupert for an awesome childhood. It's so different now that you know that the movies and books that you once grew up with them now come to an end... feels like end of my live. Will miss you HP , will miss to see Dan Rupert or Emma playing their characters, will miss everything that is related to Harry Potter.
Why do I always cry while I'm watching videos like these? I swear, every single time. Harry Potter just means so much to me and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. It has had such a positive impact on my life and in all honesty I have learned more about life, love, and death from these books than I've ever learned in real life. I plan on being a Harry Potter fan till the day I die. Long live the boy who lived!
People at my high school and in my family wonder why I love the Harry Potter series so much but then I get on Mugglenet, Twitter, and YouTube, and I know I'm not alone. I will always be a part of the HP Generation!!
I think it's safe to say Harry Potter makes me a better person, or else I would be a lost teenager right now like most people around me if I hadn't seen the movie when I was 6.
when other books series i loved to read ended, i was sad and sometimes i am still sad. but with harry potter, i was definitely sad...but i overcame my sadness, because harry potter will live on forever.
Thank you so much Jo!!! you have given me so many magical memories, none will ever be forgotten! your my role model! through everything you went through, you still managed to stay strong and create this whole new world. you may have stopped writing the books, but the stories will never die. we will pass them on, because we are the Harry Potter Generation :) Thank you so much!!!!!! xo
All these kids are like 12-15 years old. Someone needs to upload a video like this, only with the people who actually grew up with Harry throughout the series.
@KingPillow1000 Around that age range, yeah. I mean I'm 21 turning 22 pretty soon & when the first book came out I was only 7 or 8! These kids were either 1 or 2, or not even born yet!
@DaltonSetToKill It doesn't matter if you joined Harry at the beginning, half way through, or your just joining him now, we are all joined together by Harry, and the amazing journey we have all had with him. Harry Potter is a big part of all of us, and like I said before when we joined Harry has no impact, the part that does impact us is that we have all joined Harry. <3
@canucksfan97jn I do get what you are saying; I was saying I wanted to see a video like this, only with people in my age range. The ones who have literally gorwn up with the series. I'm not saying we are better than you, it's just a video were I can relate to more. The people who waited at midnight in line with 5,000 people ahead of us to get the next book in the series. The people who waited long periods of time for each movie to come out so we could go see it in the middle of the night.
@DaltonSetToKill it would be nice to see one with older fans, i agree- my sister was in the first generation of potterheads like yourself :)
however, i starting reading when the first film came out when i was 5, i was never allowed to midnight viewings but lots of people my age did and we grew up with potter just as much as your lot did: (im 16 now ) waited for a heartbrakingly long time for each film, played "wingardiam leviosa" at playtime ,spent hours discussing what could happen next etc :)
@HeyItsKaitlinXD Sure doesn't look like it. I'm sure maybe a few are older, but calm down man I wasn't saying anything bad against the video or the people in it. When I see this video, I for the most part see kids who are in middle school or high school. No reason to get an attitude. You look like you're probably the oldest in the video. You're the guy at 2:22 right?
@DaltonSetToKill you think someone with the username 'HeyItsKaitlin' is a guy? =P If you look at their channel you can easily see which person it is!
Besides... Why do you think being young means they're not part of generation Potter? If they're 16 now, they were 12 when DH came out, 10 when HBP came out... Plenty old enough to get the book at midnight etc.! I always saw people of all ages, including children, at midnight releases and the like.
@JoRowlingRocks No, I was being sarcastic. She was being a douche /=
I never said anything about these people not being "good enough". The only thing I said was it would be nice if someone could make a video just like this, only with people who grew up with Harry Potter, book by book & movie by movie. Look back at my comments, I never once said anything bad about anyone.
@DaltonSetToKill how was she being a douche? All she did was say she's older! I know you didn't say anything bad, but you're saying the people in this video didn't grow up with HP when they probably did. I'm older, I was 13 when I became a fan- most of my childhood was without HP, for people a bit younger than me they really did grow up with it. Just because they weren't there right from publication of PS doesn't mean they didn't experience the wait for any of the books etc.
@JoRowlingRocks She got an attitude -_- lol but it doesn't matter, it's all good.
To an extent they did, yeah of course. I'm not saying these kids aren't HP fans or less of a fan because they were born in different years. I'm saying, I'd simply like to see a video like this, only with people who have been there since the very beginning or around that time, give or take a few years. & like I said, I don't have anything against the people in this video or younger fans in general.
Thank you Jo, for changing my life and giving me the most wonderful and magical childhood I could get. Thank you for giving all of us something to believe in. I am crying right now, not because I'm sad, but because I'm happy. I'm so happy and so overwhelmed that one story has touched so many lives, and that even though the story has ended, it doesn't mean that it wont live on. The fandom will always be here, and we will create new stories every day. Thank you so much!
Harry Potter Lives On As Long As We Obsessed Fans Work Together to Beat As One. Beat Like A Heart, A Heart Full of Tears, Love and Laughter. Thank You Harry, Jo and Everyone Who Made This Generation OUR Magical Generation. Long Live The Original HP Generation. We Shall Pass it On. -3
For the 6th time I'm on the Deathly Hallows, Harry is about to go to the Ravenclaws tower to search for Ravenclaws lost diadem, he'll be noticed by the Carrows (Alecto and Amycus) and they'll press their dark mark, Voldemort will come...
Oh enough about that, I really like this video :)
im a guy and i dont care what anyone says probly the saddest thing is knowing that the final chapter has ended. best thing though is that she never said she was done forever we still have a chance.
@FredAndGeorgeFan1 "she never said she was done forever" she actually has said that. Sorry :P She has said she may write a Harry Potter encyclopaedia one day, but no more Harry Potter books.
Wow you guys have such neat writing :] Harry Potter Will never Truly end... They'll always be in our hearts!!! Thank You Jo for making all of this possible!! WE WILL MISS YOU!!!! :'( <3
Crying so much. Seeing the fans crying makes it even harder. Thank you JO, for 10 incredible & magical years. Thank you for my childhood and my life. I am so grateful to be a part of the POTTER GENERATION. Potter will never die, it will be around for years to come. Thank you!
if you make another one like this can someone let me know? thanks :) this was so beautiful. you can say what you want about JK, her books, the films, all of it, but you'll have the whole potter army to deal with. i found my family in a book. well in this case books, and it was the harry potter series. thankyou JK for my childhood.
I started to cry at this video when the girl at 0:52 started to cry. Harry and the gang have been in my live since I was 8 and now Im 16. I will raise my wand and glass to Jo
... and thank you JK Rowling, for those amazing years of my life. Even if I am young, I really stayed with Harry till the very end...thank you for making my life Magical. Harry Potter Generation
I cried seeing this beautiful video. I grew Up in Hogwarts since i was little and now it's time To Say goodbye. It may be the end of an Era, but it is the begining of a legend. Thank you, Harry, Ron and Hermione for your friendship, thank you professor Dumbledore for being the best headmaster we could have ever asked for, thank you professor Snape, for teaching us how to rectify our mistakes, thank you every one of you for showing us that we can do a difference in our life... and thank you JK R
compared to game of throne and lord of the rings this film franchise was nothing more than a fart in the ocean of space! The truth is they were as badly made as the acting is in star wars. But at least star wars was good. I read the books and ofc the film wont be as good but tbh the film was no where near the books, yet we see with GoT and LotR it can be done and done well. Book 7 - 2 films and they still couldn't make it anywhere near like the book. The series and its fans are as thick a lead!
@Faylum1 wow, you have interesting views. but they are not true. gtfo. they were amazing films and everything about potter is incredible. it hasn't done this well because they suck. they made it because they were good. because they mean something to so many people.
@Faylum1 Wow, clearly you are jealous that your precious series aren't as popular! I love LOTR and GOT but really you can't compare GOT with HP. It's a TV series. You can fit a lot more into a TV series than a 2.5 hour movie. Of course the films were nowhere near the books. It's just not possible. The LOTR movies left out a lot from the books too.
I truly love that woman!! Harry Potter is I THINK a Cultural and Literary event that has left a mark in history! Harry Potter and our beloved Jo Rowling will keep getting into people's heart for many years to come i'm sure... And i'm sure also that in a 100 or 200 years Harry Potter will be considered a classic literature of our century just like Romeo and Juliet is for their time....
@21430MIGUEL that comment makes you an idiot. Harry potter isn't as big a franchise as you may think, it was over hyped and is nothing compared with the film series out there. The film Blade Runner has more fans than all the HP movies put together. The acting in HP is awful, the storyline is for girly kids and makes no sense. Why not use a timeturner and kill Voldemort? Don't say stupid things like movie of the millennium when the film has about as much impact as a stone in the Atlantic
@Faylum1 I COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR MORONIC OPINION! Whether you wanted or not Jo Rowling is a woman that has left a mark on history just as HER BOOKS DID! And about FRANCHISE... Today Harry potter is is the biggest and the wealthier! Check it out if you don't believe me... AND IF YOU DON'T KNOW how to appreciate LITERATURE keep your IGNORANT AND STUPID OPINIONS TO YOURSELF! This BOOKS WILL GO THROUGH HISTORY, FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT ONE... THAT IS A FACT!!
@21430MIGUEL No as soon as another better written fantasy book comes along with a more darker script this book will be forgotten. There are actually very few books that stand out and last over time and this isn't one of them. There are more people that agree harry potter is a gimmick than just me alone. The franchise is just that, a franchise and when people realize it was made for money and not the fans they will grow out of it. HP cannot even be considered a rival to LoTR or ASOIAF. :P
@Faylum1 you know what YOU GO AHEAD AND THINK WHATEVER YOU WANT TO THINK! I don't care!! You are either too stupid to realize about the commotion that this has caused to our contemporary LITERATURE & CULTURE or just incredibly DUMB! The fact is that Jo Rowling is one of the best writers (Along with John Grisham and Paulo Cohelo) of our decade and i dare to say maybe or century..! She'll be as great as Stephen King or better & i'm exited (as alot more people is) to see what she's gonna do next!
@Faylum1 "There are actually very few books that stand out and last over time and this isn't one of them" We can't know if it will leave the same legacy as LOTR because there simply hasn't been enough time to tell. But there have been many books since then with "a more darker script" and it's still not forgotten. Also I think you need to check the definition of "franchise".
And how can you even think it's made for the money and not the fans? Of course JK first started writing it to make money - she was a poor single mum who needed some way to support her daughter - but she has done so many HP-related projects since then (eg. "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" and "Pottermore") which she doesn't make ANY money from - she has done them to raise money for charities and for her fans.
@Faylum1 I would like to know where you got your stats that enable you to say "The film Blade Runner has more fans than all the HP movies put together". Besides, Harry Potter is, first and foremost, a book series. And if you think the acting in HP is awful, I would like to see you meet people like Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltraine, Michael Gambon and Alan Rickman and say that to their faces. If Blade Runner had more fans than HP, it would have made more money. It didn't.
Hello i have fan drawing which is a thank you films drawing in deviant art called So long Harry Potter films barneyjones deviant art but the problem is there is no comments how i make them write comments and get more views and one last thing what do you think of my drawing?
I cried watching this. I too thank you, J.K. Rowling, for giving an incredible gift. Your stories gave us times shared with our son that we will ALWAYS treasure. You have also given a generation, and hopefully beyond this generation, even more - love of reading, imagination and characters well worth admiring. I believe that all of us who have been touched by your works are better people because of it.
I0'm actually crying. I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the second time so I could live it all again and I cried even more then the 1st time. It is a end of an Era, a generation and the last film of HP, but is not the end of everything because Harry Potter will never die, Harry Potter will live forever in our hearts and I'm not the kind of person who cry in movies, but I've cried in ALL of Harry Potter movies. HE'S WITH US FOREVER
this made me cry quite a bit, actually. Having The Sorcerer's Stone read to me is my first memory, the first novel i read was The Prisoner of Azkaban. I am 14, and got at 1740 on the SAT's because many of the words they asked the meanings of were in Harry Potter. Jo and these books really changed my life, and i will never be able to explain how truly grateful I am and forever will be <3 I hope Jo decides to write more books, because I don't know what I'd do without her.
This video made me cry so much. Such a great video, I hope that Jo and the cast get to see it some day. Thank you to Jo and the cast for shaping my life and giving me a best friend when I had none when I was growing up. <3
This actually made me tear up a bit :') Harry Potter has been a part of my life since I was 9 or 10 and now I'm 21 and it marks the end of my childhood. I'll miss it so so much. It was sad enough when the books were over and now I'll miss getting excited with new movie releases. It won't be the same again. But Harry Potter will always live on with me through the books and DVDs and that's as good as it can get :) I'm so proud and lucky to be a part of this experience!
It's hard explainging to others who are not into the series what hp means to me. I'm more than devastated that it has all ended, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Thank you J.K. Rowling, for making my childhood and life so much better. Thank you for all the charactors, and thank you for all the lessons hp has taught me.
Thank you for this video - It is very hard to explain to others just how much of an impact the entire world of Harry Potter has had on so many of us. We all either grew up or had children that grew up with Harry and his friends. I cried like everyone else at the midnight showing last night. Thank you JK Rowling for touching the lives of SO many people that needed Harry in their lives
Must I remind all of you guys who are weeping about the end of a series is that it is fiction... how about crying over the global debt crisis rather than a story. Not to be mean, but honestly, it's not worth crying over.
@TheCavalierKing96 I know you don't mean harm, but I don't think it's up to you to tell others what they should be feeling sad about. Sure, there are other things out there much more serious than the ending of a fictional series. The world's going to shit. But still, if someone feels upset that a story they've literally grown up with is ending then by all means let them shed some tears. For some, Harry Potter was a major means to feel connected to others. You have the right to not pay attention.
@MochaMintchan92 I appreciate you not trolling on me for saying what I did. I respect all you Harry Potter fans, and I get what you're saying, it's just my personal preference that I don't love Harry Potter. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions :)
@TheCavalierKing96 soooo... you've never cried in a movie? And why cry over the global debt crisis? Idiot governments and banks got themselves into trouble, not worth crying over. For some people, Harry Potter saved their lives. I have read stories of people who nearly commit suicide or had to battle with family breakups and deaths and Harry Potter is what got them through. Yes it's a fictional story but it's had a profound impact on many people.
The one thing in life I will appreciate forever is the things that the Harry Potter series taught and showed me while I was growing up, sometimes I feel as if we all were growing up with them. I always waited by the window waiting for my letter to show up and even though that letter never physically made it to me, or any of us, that letter was mailed to our hearts, where it will stay forever.
Thank you J.K. Rowling for creating such an impact on all our lives. Love - Fans of The H.P. series.
This made me cry hysterically. Luna made me feel like I belong in this world. Her character made me feel less alone. I can't stop crying, my childhood is coming to an end... <3
Oh my god, GET OVER IT! Things come to an end! Don't go around crying about it! It's not the end of a fucking "Era" its the end of a vert creative book+movie series.
Now get yourselves together and move on, because being all sad about it ending won't make it come back.
@politik1130 Shut up! If you don't like HP, then go get a life! Harry Potter means everything to us. It's our escape. And we will be sad when it ends cause that's how much it means to us. So shut up and leave us alone!
@politik1130 Don't be such a whiny Bellatrix! Just because you're a squib, doesn't mean the rest of us are! <3 The entire world is against what you just said. I hope you feel very clever, because no one else thinks you are.
@popaddict J.K. Rowling went from living in poverty to becoming the first person to become a billionaire by writing books, so don't think for a moment she doesn't appreciate everything she has. And judging by her teary thank you at the premiere in London, she appreciates her fans just as much.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I doubt 'Jo' can hear all your thank you's.. what with deafening clattering from the money in her bank vault courtesy of all the Harry Potter fans... but the gesture is nice I suppose..
@popaddict Clearly, she doesn't care just about the money. If it was just about the money, she wouldn't have cried at the premiere of DH part 2, continued on, created Pottermore, admitted she would love to write another 7 books. She would have stopped once she had enough money. But she truly cares about the fans and people around the world who have been touched by her books. Even if she never sees this, it's the thought that counts.
@CassidyErinn I'm she does appreciate the following her work generates but please don't kid yourself into thinking she wouldn't care about the money... not when you make as much as she does from the HP franchise. And I did say the video was a nice gesture, regardless.
@popaddict why do people become so nasty when someone manages to do something successful and make money? If she was just concerned about making money, why has she stopped writing? She could easily keep making money by writing an 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th book, but she's not. Because she only planned 7 books and that's all she's writing. She's done extra side projects - like "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" and Pottermore, but she didn't make any money off them.
Honestly I keep thinking I'll run out of tears, and here I am crying again. Thank you
J.K. Rowling, for giving me the magic I desperately needed, for giving me an amazing childhood, and for teaching me so many things that will last a lifetime. Thank you Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Draco, Lupin, Dumbledore, Tonks, Fred, George, Ginny, Dobby, Hedwig, Snape, Hagrid, McGonagall, Moody, Molly, Arthur, Sirius, Neville, Cedric, Dudley, Lily, James, and even Voldemort for everything you taught me.

Oh, gosh, crying so much now.
Always.

Oh & most importantly- WE LOVE YOU JO!

Will miss you HP , will miss to see Dan Rupert or Emma playing their characters, will miss everything that is related to Harry Potter.

@KingPillow1000 Around that age range, yeah. I mean I'm 21 turning 22 pretty soon & when the first book came out I was only 7 or 8! These kids were either 1 or 2, or not even born yet!
DaltonSetToKill 3 months ago
@DaltonSetToKill It doesn't matter if you joined Harry at the beginning, half way through, or your just joining him now, we are all joined together by Harry, and the amazing journey we have all had with him. Harry Potter is a big part of all of us, and like I said before when we joined Harry has no impact, the part that does impact us is that we have all joined Harry. <3
canucksfan97jn 3 months ago
@canucksfan97jn I do get what you are saying; I was saying I wanted to see a video like this, only with people in my age range. The ones who have literally gorwn up with the series. I'm not saying we are better than you, it's just a video were I can relate to more. The people who waited at midnight in line with 5,000 people ahead of us to get the next book in the series. The people who waited long periods of time for each movie to come out so we could go see it in the middle of the night.
DaltonSetToKill 3 months ago 3
@DaltonSetToKill it would be nice to see one with older fans, i agree- my sister was in the first generation of potterheads like yourself :)
however, i starting reading when the first film came out when i was 5, i was never allowed to midnight viewings but lots of people my age did and we grew up with potter just as much as your lot did: (im 16 now ) waited for a heartbrakingly long time for each film, played "wingardiam leviosa" at playtime ,spent hours discussing what could happen next etc :)
liquidwitch95 3 months ago
@DaltonSetToKill I'm 20 and I was in it. A lot of the people are older and did grow up with Harry Potter. Good try though.
HeyItsKaitlinXD 2 months ago
@HeyItsKaitlinXD Sure doesn't look like it. I'm sure maybe a few are older, but calm down man I wasn't saying anything bad against the video or the people in it. When I see this video, I for the most part see kids who are in middle school or high school. No reason to get an attitude. You look like you're probably the oldest in the video. You're the guy at 2:22 right?

13Aylinka13 2 months ago
@DaltonSetToKill you think someone with the username 'HeyItsKaitlin' is a guy? =P If you look at their channel you can easily see which person it is!
Besides... Why do you think being young means they're not part of generation Potter? If they're 16 now, they were 12 when DH came out, 10 when HBP came out... Plenty old enough to get the book at midnight etc.! I always saw people of all ages, including children, at midnight releases and the like.
JoRowlingRocks 1 month ago
@JoRowlingRocks No, I was being sarcastic. She was being a douche /=
I never said anything about these people not being "good enough". The only thing I said was it would be nice if someone could make a video just like this, only with people who grew up with Harry Potter, book by book & movie by movie. Look back at my comments, I never once said anything bad about anyone.
DaltonSetToKill 1 month ago
@DaltonSetToKill how was she being a douche? All she did was say she's older! I know you didn't say anything bad, but you're saying the people in this video didn't grow up with HP when they probably did. I'm older, I was 13 when I became a fan- most of my childhood was without HP, for people a bit younger than me they really did grow up with it. Just because they weren't there right from publication of PS doesn't mean they didn't experience the wait for any of the books etc.
JoRowlingRocks 1 month ago
@JoRowlingRocks She got an attitude -_- lol but it doesn't matter, it's all good.
To an extent they did, yeah of course. I'm not saying these kids aren't HP fans or less of a fan because they were born in different years. I'm saying, I'd simply like to see a video like this, only with people who have been there since the very beginning or around that time, give or take a few years. & like I said, I don't have anything against the people in this video or younger fans in general.

raila2631 6 months ago
compared to game of throne and lord of the rings this film franchise was nothing more than a fart in the ocean of space!
Faylum1 6 months ago
@Faylum1 wow, you have interesting views. but they are not true. gtfo. they were amazing films and everything about potter is incredible. it hasn't done this well because they suck. they made it because they were good. because they mean something to so many people.
TheConcertlover101 4 months ago
@Faylum1 Wow, clearly you are jealous that your precious series aren't as popular! I love LOTR and GOT but really you can't compare GOT with HP. It's a TV series. You can fit a lot more into a TV series than a 2.5 hour movie. Of course the films were nowhere near the books. It's just not possible. The LOTR movies left out a lot from the books too.
LilaBear 3 months ago
I truly love that woman!! Harry Potter is I THINK a Cultural and Literary event that has left a mark in history! Harry Potter and our beloved Jo Rowling will keep getting into people's heart for many years to come i'm sure... And i'm sure also that in a 100 or 200 years Harry Potter will be considered a classic literature of our century just like Romeo and Juliet is for their time....
21430MIGUEL 6 months ago
@21430MIGUEL that comment makes you an idiot. Harry potter isn't as big a franchise as you may think, it was over hyped and is nothing compared with the film series out there. The film Blade Runner has more fans than all the HP movies put together. The acting in HP is awful, the storyline is for girly kids and makes no sense. Why not use a timeturner and kill Voldemort? Don't say stupid things like movie of the millennium when the film has about as much impact as a stone in the Atlantic
Faylum1 6 months ago
21430MIGUEL 6 months ago
@21430MIGUEL No as soon as another better written fantasy book comes along with a more darker script this book will be forgotten. There are actually very few books that stand out and last over time and this isn't one of them. There are more people that agree harry potter is a gimmick than just me alone. The franchise is just that, a franchise and when people realize it was made for money and not the fans they will grow out of it. HP cannot even be considered a rival to LoTR or ASOIAF. :P
Faylum1 6 months ago

LilaBear 3 months ago
And how can you even think it's made for the money and not the fans? Of course JK first started writing it to make money - she was a poor single mum who needed some way to support her daughter - but she has done so many HP-related projects since then (eg. "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" and "Pottermore") which she doesn't make ANY money from - she has done them to raise money for charities and for her fans.
LilaBear 3 months ago
@Faylum1 I would like to know where you got your stats that enable you to say "The film Blade Runner has more fans than all the HP movies put together". Besides, Harry Potter is, first and foremost, a book series. And if you think the acting in HP is awful, I would like to see you meet people like Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltraine, Michael Gambon and Alan Rickman and say that to their faces. If Blade Runner had more fans than HP, it would have made more money. It didn't.

Must I remind all of you guys who are weeping about the end of a series is that it is fiction... how about crying over the global debt crisis rather than a story. Not to be mean, but honestly, it's not worth crying over.
TheCavalierKing96 7 months ago
@TheCavalierKing96 I know you don't mean harm, but I don't think it's up to you to tell others what they should be feeling sad about. Sure, there are other things out there much more serious than the ending of a fictional series. The world's going to shit. But still, if someone feels upset that a story they've literally grown up with is ending then by all means let them shed some tears. For some, Harry Potter was a major means to feel connected to others. You have the right to not pay attention.

MochaMintchan92 7 months ago
@TheCavalierKing96 soooo... you've never cried in a movie? And why cry over the global debt crisis? Idiot governments and banks got themselves into trouble, not worth crying over. For some people, Harry Potter saved their lives. I have read stories of people who nearly commit suicide or had to battle with family breakups and deaths and Harry Potter is what got them through. Yes it's a fictional story but it's had a profound impact on many people.

@popaddict J.K. Rowling went from living in poverty to becoming the first person to become a billionaire by writing books, so don't think for a moment she doesn't appreciate everything she has. And judging by her teary thank you at the premiere in London, she appreciates her fans just as much.
