  • Excellent video and recipe !

  • Hello I like your videoes, you can escibir the ingredients it is that I speak very slightly English and do not understand very well ... thank you very much

  • Rose water is very cheap if you find it in the middle eastern food aisle of your grocery store. About $ 1.50 for 10 oz The Orange blossom water is freakin awsome too for beuty, aromatherepy and household deoderizing.

  • couldn't you just spritz water to set your makeup?

  • why am i just now seeing your videos?? omg i love love love your videos :-)

  • How do you know when if it's spoiled?

  • Do you have to add those extra oils?

  • hi! im a super fan of all your videos.... just wanted to ask if the rose oil is the same as the ones used for aromatherapy? thanks :)

  • what a wonderfully sensible way of explaining what a refresher spray does, thank you!

  • Hi koren! i made this mixture today! i would like to know whether this mixture has to be kept in the fridge or outside?

  • ur my favorite ! thanks for sharing ! <3

  • how do you know if its spoiled?

  • great video!

  • How does caffiene wake up the SKIN??! :-o

  • what woudl you reccomend as a substitue for the sage, i am allergic to it.

  • amazing.. :) I've been wondering what would be good to use to set my makeup..

  • ur my IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I seriously fucking love you...All the time I think to myself I wish I could do this....AND THEN! you make an awesome video about it like a day after...stop reading my mind Koren!

  • you are the BEST! i just love to watch your videos! i have learned so so so much from you and can't thank you enough for all of the lessons you have taught me about cosmetics! so professional and personable and fun to watch! THANK YOU! YAY! YOU ARE THE BEST!!

  • at 5:35 what was the oil called?

  • i really love you!!! u are awesome!!!!!!

    love the vid

  • Not sure if this has been asked....but what about using Grapefruit Seed Extract instead of Tea Tree Oil? GSE is a natural antibacterial and anti fungal but doesn't have the potent smell Tea Tree Oil has.

    Thanks so much!

  • One thing Koren, the lemon isn´t a good idea because it photosensitive for the skin when used during the day

  • what do I use if Im very elergic to tree tree oil I have really bad asthma and last time my hubbys used it in the house I had a bad athma attack

  • Could I create this without rose oil?

  • Hey! i just found your vidoes! question: is this refreshing setting spray like macs fix plus?

  • @malalay19 it's an alternative

  • did you say that it is cheaper just to buy fix+ ?

  • @dylandyson depends how much you make, you'll need a new cucumber each time and water etc, but the oils will last you a long time for many batches. in the long run, it'd be cheaper to initially buy all the ingredients and repurchace them when they run out so that you can make your own than to buy bottle after bottle of fix+

  • how can you make a gallon if it goes bad in 6 weeks??

  • @L0vingMakeup he doesn't say he's going to make a gallon that's just how big his container of water was. plus it'd be over a gallon with all the other ingredients added. you could make a lot and give/sell it to friends. but watch part 2 to see how much he makes.

  • Really informative! I liked how you toned down your nerves after the first part:)

  • can u use aloe vera gel instead of glycerin??? plz answer!!!

  • koren i have some concern, i really wanna try your masterpiece however i would liek to know if the oil that you were using is the same oil that we put to a burner oil at home. I am located at Doha Qatar, do you think oil at Body Shop will do? Please response... Thank you!

  • @ana07101 room fragrance oils are not the same as essential oils, though you can use essential oils in an oil burner, you should not use room fragrance oils for this as they are artificial and do not contain the ley ingredients in essential oil that would allow this to work. Body Shop also does not carry all the oils he mentions. look for essential oils at a health food shop.

  • so ive got the glycerin and rose whater mixed in one so do i need just clycerin or will that work and  i was planing on getting the rose oil tho :}

  • Hey Koren! I live in Australia and it's been difficult finding places that sell glycerin, I've read on some websites that you can buy glycerin from large animal vets as they use it on the horses hooves. I was wondering whether this glycerin is the same as cosmetic grade ones?

  • @94781014 hey, I'm in Aus too. I went to a pharmacy and asked for it, and they gave me glycerol instead, which they said is the same thing. Seems to work fine!

  • XOXOX LOVE YOUR WORK AND IDEAS

  • I LOVE UUUU

  • u cant knock it til u try it... i lOOOOVEEE KOREN!

  • has anyone tried this does it actually work as a setting spray?

  • benzoin is supossed to be a natural preservative also....

  • I am addicted to FixxPlus BUT I just tried this recipe and its a DEFINITE keeper!

  • this is ingenious! will def have to try it out! truly inspirational!

  • JFYI Honey is the best and most natural preservative and antibacterial you can use.

  • can u used lemon juice instead of lemon oil??

  • I wouldn't recommend. I am brazillian and EVERY brazilian girl knows that anything with lemon on it (including caipirinhas) when it touches the skin and you go into the sun it can make some "spots" on your skin.

However, if you use lemon juice on the evening (with the use a potent sunscreen) it can make your skin lighter.

  • @BarbieDominique06 it would be cheaper huh! i dunno though :/

  • thanks so much for this, I will most def. try it! you are FABULOUS DAHHHHLING!! ;)

  • Does putting Caffeine on your skin make it soak in and act like you're drinking it?

  • @NightSilk it'd have more of an effect on your skin than your body, i really don't think it'd do you ant harm. there isn't a lot of caffeine in green tea anyway

  • Looking good Koren! Thanks so much for doing this :)

  • this is the second video I`ve whatched from you and I already think you`re a great person! :)) I think it`s very nice for you to take time and effort and and do something so nice for us and so useful! thank you very much!

  • Love ur home made stuff. I had a question, u said rosemary is good 4 hair n I looked it up n found out it helps in hair growth. Would the addition of this into the spray increase facial hair growth? I don't want to end up with a moustache:|

  • Thanks for answering my first question... I was curious.. can you use witch hazel in lieu of the cucumber and would ACV be a good preservative and if yes how would you incorporate that?

  • what was the second oil??

  • Rose oil

  • Awesome!!! I love your homemade stuff videos! Especially the one for brush cleanser. Saved me so much money... Do you have a background in chemistry?

  • Oh my God you are marvelas Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat idea ;)

  • I love your tips! they are huge fab!!!!

  • aww that must have been so frusturating to have it spoil after 3 days! im glad this one lasts so long! thats amazing. ive been using fix plus for years, but i have been wanting to make my own since learning about essential oils and there benifits at school.

    great job, as usual! xo

  • These kind of videos are my favourite! Thanks!

  • you could have just used apple cider vinegar for your preservative. It's cheap and it's foolproof, just a teaspoon for an 8oz bottle. The vinegar will preserve it for a very long time. Then that gives you more freedom in the way you want it to smell.

  • Do you know how horrible that smells? I would never put apple cider vinegar on my face.

  • in small increments it's fine, especially when you use essential oils. Apple cider vinegar also takes care of acne like no other. I make toner & I use ACV in every toner I make & no one ever knows it's there.

and to answer your question; yes, I do know how bad it smells... but if you know how to use it, you don't have to be ignorant to the benefits of it ;) cheers!

  • Vinegar would burn the hell out of my face!

  • I put 1/2 teaspoon in every 8oz toner I make. No one knows it's in there & I've gotten it in my eyes & it doesn't even burn then. You can't knock something till you try it, that is just silly. It keeps skin so clear and it works as a preservative too, so it's too beneficial to not try out. Actually, if you drink a tablespoon a day, it's supposed to make you lose weight. I love apple cider vin.

  • tea bags.. cucumber... lol

  • awesome

    Iwill try this for sure

    xoxoxoxxo

  • so brilliant...you never cease to amaze me!! THX!!! :)

  • thanks for the vid koren. i am so interested in starting into using essential oils!

  • basically awesome :))))

  • u should sell that in your store. for those people that is lazy. like me. lol

  • your sooo smart - love ur vids. ur super sweet! super informative. best wishes!

  • Excited bout this video.. :)

  • This sounds great compared to what was on the news a while ago. The local news channel stated they use processed urine in make-up so that it sticks to your face. I hope thats not true but its the news channel! :(

  • Urea (formerly extracted from urine)

As a cosmetic ingredient, urea is a functional skin-softener and humectant, which means it helps to collect and hold moisture in the skin.

And thank goodness it isn't extracted from horse urine anymore, because a form of urea (diazolidinyl urea, specifically) is widely used in all manner of cosmetics, household cleansers and hair products as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial and preservative

  • Wow, thanks for the heads up. Thats really cool that you know that. Someone who has their facts and can teach me something new is always good in my book! :) Thanks for the reply!

  • genius :P

  • so..you are genius

  • Koran --Once again thank you! It is because of your videos I have decided to go for it and study makeup artistry. Thank you for being such a gift!

  • hehehe totally understand your feelings. i'm in my second year of law school and find myself surfing sites for cosmetology schools, make-up artistry classes... daily thanks to koren...

  • i use to buy tea tree oil and mix it into my shampoo. great for the scalp and hair

  • Very informative, fantastic instructional video

  • your awesome : i love watching you!

  • Will using the tea tree oil be bad for dry skin?

  • you are such and Alchemist!:) but what is really intriguing is that how you come up with those recipes? I'd love to see a video about that! Xo, Vic

  • part of Makeup artistry is getting familiarized with ingredients. Its an important element of the biz that alot tend to neglect.

  • i love u cuz u are so creative¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Can I substitute Witch Hazel for the cucumber extract for my oily skin?

  • Tea Tree oil is great for oily skin and acne

  • Tea Tree Oil is fantastic, we have it in our Toner.

  • Hey Koren, thanks for this video, it came just in time because I was just about to make homemade fix-plus, but I have a question for you..

Will putting on refreshing spray have any affect on my foundation oxidizing? Is there anything I can use to prevent that?, I have super duper industrial strength oily skin even though I'm in my 40's and I would like to find something that will keep my makeup from oxidizing.....any suggestions?

  • well unfortunately, oxidation is an unavoidable natural process. As long as oxygen is present, some products will naturally oxidize

  • is this stuff safe to use near your eyes?

won't lemon and tea tree make your eyes sting? <3

  • i love watching your videos... you are so smart and knowledgeable about everything.

PS you can buy essential oils at Sallys Beauty now. And they are really good quality for pretty cheap!

  • oh no! I'm allergic to tea tree oil!

  • i thought green tea doesn't have caffeine

  • yep its got caffeine, much to pop belief, up to 30mg of caffeine a cup of green tea

  • Hey Koren, Can you substitute the actual cucumber for a cucumber extract? Is there such thing? cause i know how important it is to get fresh veggie but it may help the spoiling problem if it were possible.

  • well, you can - but its hard to find - so cucumber is more accessible than the extract.

  • thanks for telling me Koren, i've been drinking it at night....no wonder i've had insomnia.

  • Switch to Chamomille if you drink tea at night.
