yea the carbon sound was clear and crisp- and birght--id take a bright sound over a warm sound and not bright sound any day...all those notes are ringers!!
I think sounds varies between the sound holes. The third guitar is more louder and more crisp but kinda synthetic. nothing really beats the wooden guitar..
FYI a guitar with small sound hole produces a high bass sound while the bigger sound hole gives more treble sound.
Would be a good acoustic to play with a full band. You shouldnt be so concerned with 'warmth' etc in an acoustic + full band situation. Just need quality tops/mids eq'd to cut through the mix and this carbon fibre acoustic really has that.
That gilmore riff your playing put me in,''Another brick in wall movie'' The most powerful scene in the movie,'' A reenactment based on real ''Sid barrett- like insanity,.In the movie the character ''Pink" played by (Bob geldof) realizes his isolation -is serious: having received no responce to his plea in ''Hey you'' he is moved to ask ,''Is there anybody out there?'' A portrait of growing psychosis, "Pink enters the washroom to shave. His distorted mind takes the concept into a bloody scene.
Yes the carbon somehow gives an undoubtabley cleaner sound both in strumming and in picking, but there's also no doubt about it lacking the warm tone that the wood naturally possess, the thing is, guitar players such as Erik Mongrain use lower tuning's in the bass and they sound suprisingly, amazingly well, much better than when I've heard those same tunings played on wood so maybe that's where the overall clearness comes in from the carbon, individual strings, it can deffinitely be heard...
The Carbon Guitar seems to have a higher tone range. It picks up more HIGHness.. I prefer a more buttery sound. I'll stick to wood. Although I think Carbon Fibre looks MAD cool.
I liked the Grassman alot better than the Takamine. BUT it does steal away that traditional woody sound. BUT, if i were blindfolded i would pick the Grassman. Nice demonstration. wow. I like the concept of the sound hole at the top. seems to make it sound more full.
sounds exactly the same

The tone is amazing in the carbon fiber, however, it lacks the "warm" sound of a wooden guitar. Its a little too "cold" sounding for me

I like them both. My preference goes to the woody. Thanks for comparing, it is something I cannot do at stores in my town.

Although it has an interesting sound, I don't think it works well in acoustic guitar applications.
It almost sounds like a cross between an acoustic guitar and Dobro.
I can see this really working well as a Mandolin because the carbon fiber really accentuates the mids and highs.
Now I could really see this working in a quartet of guitars because it would add ambiance to the grouping.

I am hearing a banjo quality in the composite guitar....
at one point it sounded like a resonator guitar...
that's fine if that's what ya want....
lacks that "warm" quality of wood

Sounds a bit like a banjo. It's cool but I prefer the sound from the wooden one.

i think it was aesthetic design on the grassman because carbon fiber guitars are suppose to have more resonating capabilities.
