@curtloadblower the problem is ur screen. its burnt. it happened to me and yes... i know how to fix it. step 1. take off the bottom and top cover. step 2. take out the curcit boards and the screen. step 3. disconnect the screen. step 4. go on the internet and buy a new screen (i found one for $16) step 5. connect the new screen. step 6. do pretty much what this guy is doing and ur done. :) hope it helps :D

You could always try reinstalling the system software through iTunes. That should work as long as it isn't something wrong with the hardware in your iPod.

take the top white plate off and make sure the switch is on the track that its supposed to be

the button could be broken internally. take off the cover but make sure to do it with the proper tools or you can damage it.

my top protecter peice,(the long plastic strip which has the hold button)

cant fit the body itself,

if i get both the ends to fit into place,

in between the strip it pops up..WHAT GIVES????

oh!plus i swam in a river with it by accident,

it managed to work a few days later but once it does,i cant use the back light,(its does activate however when charging,)

and when i disconnect it from charging it still hs the charging symbol :(

Hey, For water damage, i recommend that you take it out, and all the chips and screen and what not, Put it in raw rice, you probally think im crazy, but the rice will absorb the water and then put it back together and it should work:)

its not hard to open, all you have to do is get a thin piece of plastic and wedge it between the cracks on the top and bottom. as he said, the white plastic pieces have adhesive on them so becareful or u will break it. once you get those off just follow the rest of it and its that simple. No need to be jackasses

to remove it just pop up the bottom frst then use a very thin tool to pop up the top or once youve opened the bottom just push the inside up and if something breaks dont blame me, mine just loss its click wheel because i watched this fucking video!

We suggest letting it sit for a full 24 hours without a charge, then attach it to a wall charger and see if it powers up. If it still doesn't power up you may need to get a new logic board installed or buy a refurbished nano. We have plenty of them for sale on our website at a great price.

It sounds more like you may have had a power surge to your logic board. If you've had it less than a year you should be under warranty. I would contact Apple and see if they will replace it for free.
